In 1991, they welcomed their son, Manolo, but unfortunately, their relationship came to an end two years later. Despite their separation, Vergara and Gonzalez maintain a strong bond as "close friends." In a 2011 interview with Parade, the accomplished actress from Modern Family shared that her ex-husband stays with her whenever he visits the United States.

Chris Paciello

Following her breakup with Gonzalez, Vergara briefly dated Paciello. The Miami club owner was rumored to have connections with the Sicilian Mafia. In 1999, he faced charges in New York for his alleged involvement in the 1993 murder of Judith Shemtov and a robbery, where he was believed to be the getaway driver. The following year, he pleaded guilty to a single charge of racketeering and received a ten-year prison sentence.
