Updraft UsesHow to Create an Updraft
Revali's Gale, a blessing highly valued in Breath of the Wild for its ability to generate powerful updrafts, has been replaced in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. In this direct sequel, the game introduces Zonai abilities and Sage abilities, marking a departure from the previous runes and Champion Blessings.
This guide provides players with strategies to create powerful updrafts in Tears of the Kingdom, akin to Revali's Gale. Mastering this technique can prove invaluable in various scenarios, such as navigating Shrines and exploring the vast world.
Updraft Uses
In the sequel to Breath of the Wild, players found themselves relying heavily on Revali's Gale. However, when they first played the game, it became apparent just how challenging it was to navigate the world without this helpful ability.
Updrafts are a valuable asset when it comes to navigating through difficult situations in the game. Take, for instance, players who have not yet accumulated enough Stamina Vessels to easily climb tall cliffs. By utilizing an updraft, they can gain a significant advantage by utilizing their paraglider to ascend before even reaching the wall.
It can also serve as a convenient means to ascend a Stone Talus effortlessly, traverse a river without the need to swim, soar over hazardous terrains or obstacles, or access another Sky Island without the inherent risk of a potential fall.
How to Create an Updraft
In order to create an updraft, players need to take advantage of their environment and then use fire to their own benefit.
To create an updraft in Tears of the Kingdom, gamers need to ignite a fire and ensure its spread. They can search for dry grass or other flammable materials in their surroundings and ignite them using Fire Fruit, by constructing a campfire, using a fire weapon, or employing a spin-charge attack with the Ember Trousers equipped. As the fire gradually spreads, an updraft will gradually form.
How to Create a Powerful Updraft
Gamers can harness the power of updrafts by creating their own version of Revali's Gale. To achieve this, players will need to acquire Hylian Pine Cones. These pine cones can be found throughout the expansive land of Hyrule, with the Hebra Mountains and the Lanayru Great Spring being particularly abundant locations. When thrown into a fire, the Hylian Pine Cones release a highly combustible oil, significantly intensifying the flames.
By tossing a Hylian Pine Cone into a campfire, gamers can temporarily intensify the flames and instantly generate a significant updraft akin to the power of Revali's Gale. This knowledge can be advantageous for players as they venture through the vast realm of Hyrule.
