Snoop Dogg, you got us fooled this time. The famous rapper/actor, known for his love of marijuana, had everyone thinking he was giving up smoking. However, it seems he was referring to a different kind of "smokeless" experience.
Snoop shared a video on Instagram on Monday, declaring, "I am quitting smoke. I am transitioning to a smokeless experience with @solostove. #ad"
In the video, he announces, "I have something important to share with you all: I have decided to give up smoke. I understand that you may find it surprising, considering smoke has been a significant part of my identity. However, I have reached a point where I am tired of dealing with coughing fits and having my clothes constantly smell like smoke. It's time for a smokeless lifestyle."
In the video, he showcases the Solo Stove smokeless fire pit, while a press release from the company sent to CNN states that Snoop Dogg has been named as their official smokesman. This partnership aims to promote the company's mission of eliminating smoke from backyards worldwide.
Snoop is quoted as saying in a press release for the product, "They revolutionized the game, and now I'm thrilled to share the love and keep cozy with my loved ones." The individual, whose affinity for marijuana has become integral to his personal image, sparked a frenzy online with an announcement to his extensive following of over 2.5 million Instagram users that he was abandoning smoking.
"After carefully deliberating and engaging in heartfelt discussions with my family, I have made the decision to quit smoking," he expressed in a written statement accompanied by a personal photograph. "During this period, I kindly request that my privacy be respected."
CNN reached out to his publicist for verification or further clarification; however, a response was not obtained.
In the days following, Snoop Dogg appeared to be going through it.
He posted a photo with himself looking pensive with a smoke emoji as the caption.
In a different photograph, the artist, who is 52 years old, is shown with his eyes closed. The caption accompanying that image states "Natural high," accompanied by clock and musical note emojis.
To dispel any doubts about his ongoing affection for marijuana, it was recently declared that he has collaborated with Martha Stewart and BIC on the creation of "Best Buds" bags. These bags are described by the company as being both practical and fashionable.
Ironically (or maybe not), Snoop ends his "smokeless" reveal video by saying, "Clever." Clever indeed, sir.
