Janelle Brown is embracing single life after her separation from Kody Brown — and she doesn’t want a new relationship anytime soon.
"I have absolutely no interest in dating whatsoever. It's not even on my radar. I don't actively seek romantic connections, and I am not at all attracted to men. It just feels tedious and exhausting to me. I have no desire to put in the effort required for dating."
She elaborated by saying, "I have no intention of placing myself in environments where there are many single men. And I absolutely refuse to participate in online dating. I don't understand the whole concept of swiping and find it completely unappealing."
Janelle expressed that her reluctance towards starting a new romantic relationship may potentially evolve in the future. "If I reach a point where I genuinely desire to find someone again, I would have to contemplate it further," she shared with the cameras.
In another part of the episode, which was filmed during the summer of 2022, Janelle revealed her hesitation to dissolve her spiritual marriage bond with Kody, who is 54 years old, until she was certain of God's approval. She mentioned that, until then, she was patiently anticipating a sign regarding her future.
In the show, Janelle confided in Christine Brown about the current state of her marriage. She shared that Kody hadn't stayed at her house for the past "10 months" when they filmed the scene. However, it wasn't until December 2022 that Janelle publicly confirmed their separation, revealing that she and Kody had been living apart for several months.
While filming season 18 of Sister Wives, Janelle no longer perceived herself as married to Kody, and Christine had left him in November 2021. They both expressed regret over their initial decision to join the plural family.
"I had a strong spiritual confirmation that marrying Kody was the right decision. I have absolutely no regrets," shared Christine, 51, in a confessional on the recent episode. "And when the time came to leave, it was clear it was time to go. I had no doubts about it."
Janelle expressed a similar perspective on their plural relationships. "I was completely certain that he was the one I was meant to marry," she revealed to the cameras. "I know marrying him was not a mistake, and I would make the same choice again."
Janelle, who has children named Logan (29), Maddie (27), Hunter (26), Garrison (25), Gabriel (21), and Savanah (18) with her estranged spouse, expressed that she had never anticipated leaving Kody when they entered into their spiritual union in 1993. "I never imagined that our relationship could come to an end, but it seems like there might have been a time limit," she concluded.
After Christine and Janelle separately separated from Kody, his first wife Meri Brown also confirmed in January that she had ended her romantic relationship with him. It is important to note that Kody is still legally married to his fourth wife, Robyn Brown, who became a part of the family in 2010.
