Sicario 3: Original Main Trio, including Emily Blunt, Set to Return

Sicario 3 aims to reunite the original main trio, including the talented Emily Blunt Although not confirmed, fans can hope for their return in this highly anticipated sequel

Summary

The original trio from Sicario may be returning for Sicario 3, including Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro, and Josh Brolin.

The film's producers, Molly Smith and Trent Luckinbill, are optimistic about the project and eager for all the major actors from the original trio to return. However, casting has been delayed due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. Nonetheless, both the producers and actors remain excited to begin filming.

The original cast of Sicario may return for the third installment of the franchise. Centered around a determined few aiming to halt the influx of drugs into the United States, the series initially featured Emily Blunt as FBI agent Kate Macer, Benicio del Toro as the assassin Alejandro Gillick, and Josh Brolin as CIA agent Matt Graver in its 2015 debut. In the 2018 sequel, titled Sicario: Day of the Soldado, del Toro and Brolin reprised their roles but Blunt did not.

As Sicario 3 is in the works, there has been speculation regarding which actors will be involved in the project. In an interview with Collider, producers Molly Smith and Trent Luckinbill expressed optimism that all three original cast members could potentially be part of the upcoming film. The ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike has presented challenges in casting, but the producers remain hopeful for the return of every major actor.

We aim to reunite the cast with Benicio, Emily, and Josh, as we have an incredible story to share. Benicio, having worked with us recently, is currently the most involved. However, we are keeping all the talent updated and they remain interested in the project. The strike has temporarily hindered our progress with the latest draft, but everyone is enthusiastic and well aware of the story's structure. We hope to finalize the shooting draft in the near future. Work in progress...
