Shereé Whitfield revealed that she has been keeping in touch with Kim Zolciak-Biermann and was surprised to hear about her split from Kroy Biermann. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star expressed her sadness for her former cast member, as she had believed that the couple would be together forever.

Whitfield has revealed that Zolciak-Biermann is struggling to cope with the significant upheaval in her life. In a recent communication with her, Whitfield disclosed that her friend is not doing well and is taking the situation very hard. In May, it was confirmed that the couple had filed documents to dissolve their marriage after being together for over ten years, with court documents revealing their separation date as April 30.

In his court filing, the ex-athlete has requested temporary and permanent sole legal and physical custody of his four children with the reality star - Kroy "KJ" Jr. (11), Kash (10), and twins Kaia and Kane (9). Additionally, he has expressed interest in taking ownership of their home as he takes care of the children. Following the news of their split, Biermann caused a stir by adding "My ring Meant a Thing" to his Instagram bio, which previously stated his role as a husband, father of six and athlete, and the fact that he wasn't tardy for a party could be found on Google.

After their wedding in 2011, the couple, who were former stars of Don't Be Tardy, saw the former NFL player adopt Zolciak-Biermann's daughters Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 21, from her previous relationships. However, the couple's divorce has been playing out in public, with Biermann recently requesting that Zolciak-Biermann undergo a psychological evaluation in court documents. This came shortly after Zolciak-Biermann filed a motion requesting that Biermann take a drug test, citing concerns for her children's safety while under his care.

The couple's financial troubles reportedly worsened their already strained relationship, according to a source. Us had previously confirmed in February that their mansion was in foreclosure, with an auction originally scheduled for the following month, which was later canceled. In May, an insider exclusively told Us that the couple owed over $1 million in back taxes, and the financial burdens added to their difficulties. The tax debt was allegedly the final factor that led to the end of their marriage.

Andy Cohen expressed his previous worries about Zolciak-Biermann’s financial situation during the intense situation. In a May episode of SiriusXM’s Radio Andy, the Bravo producer, who is 55 years old, stated that he had numerous instances of expressing concerns to Kim about her spending habits. He reminded her that Kroy, her husband, was no longer a professional football player and therefore, they did not have the same income as before.
