The divorce of Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kroy Biermann appears to be an ongoing issue with no resolution in sight. Court documents filed by Kroy Biermann on June 12th reveal that the split is anything but amicable and is only deteriorating further. Additionally, the estranged couple is still living together due to financial reasons.
Biermann has requested that a guardian ad litem be appointed during his custody battle with his ex-wife, Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kim Zolciak-Biermann, over their four children. The role of the guardian is to represent the children's best interests throughout the case. Biermann has stated that his request is an effort to protect his children from the negative effects of their parents' divorce. He has accused Zolciak-Biermann of using abusive language towards him in front of their children and has also alleged that she has hinted at returning to the Bravo franchise following their divorce.
According to legal documents, Kroy is worried that Kim will exploit their divorce and use the show to gain attention by discussing sensitive matters and exposing their children to inappropriate behavior for the sake of higher TV ratings, which would ultimately harm their mental health and well-being. In response, Zolciak-Biermann issued a statement through her lawyer, David Beaudry, on June 14.
The message expressed concern about the negative impact of Kroy's actions in the media on their children in the future. It denounced Kroy's spreading of false information to undermine Kim's parenting abilities for his own benefit, while praising Kim's dedication to raising their children.
According to the statement, Kim has remained silent throughout the divorce proceedings to protect her children. However, she now feels compelled to speak out after the recent filing. Kim has endured emotional and mental abuse at the hands of her former husband for numerous years, which has taken a toll on her and their children. Despite this, she has always been a devoted mother to her kids and will continue to love and support them. Kim refuses to let Kroy distort her character for his own benefit. She looks forward to resolving these issues in court once and for all. Additionally, Kim filed a motion in May requesting that Kroy undergo drug testing as she is concerned about the safety and well-being of their children while under his care. She has witnessed him smoking marijuana and feels that her children may be at risk.
In response to his ex-wife's actions, Biermann raised concerns about her ability to effectively parent their children. He requested that she undergo a psychological evaluation, citing that her behavior had become increasingly troubling in the months leading up to their divorce filing. Despite this, Zolciak-Biermann took proactive steps to improve her parenting skills by completing a parenting course focused on navigating family changes. As evidence of her efforts, she filed a certificate of completion with the Superior Court of Fulton County in Georgia at the end of May.
