Shocking Twist: Kim Zolciak Drops Bombshell in Divorce Battle, Fights for Full Custody of 4 Children

Kim Zolciak-Biermann has responded to Kroy Biermann's August custody filing, expressing her disagreement with his requests. The former Real Housewives of Atlanta star, aged 45, submitted court documents on October 16, Monday. In her filing, she requested primary physical custody of their four minor children and is also seeking joint legal custody. We obtained a copy of the filing.
Zolciak-Biermann asserts that she is a caring and suitable parent and should be granted custody of her children, whom she shares with Biermann. Biermann, who is also the adoptive father of Zolciak-Biermann's two older daughters from previous relationships, had previously requested full physical and legal custody of all four children. However, Zolciak-Biermann argues in her October filing that her estranged spouse should only be granted "liberal visitation" with their children.
Zolciak-Biermann is requesting full physical custody of the children and is also seeking both temporary and permanent child support from Biermann. In the documents, she stated that she relies on Biermann for financial support to maintain her current lifestyle. As a result, Zolciak-Biermann is asking for both temporary and permanent alimony from the retired NFL player, in addition to her legal fees.

In May, it was confirmed that Biermann and Zolciak-Biermann had filed for divorce after being married for 11 years. Despite a short period of reconciliation, Biermann filed for divorce again in August. During this time, he requested that a judge mandate the immediate sale of their family home due to their financial difficulties.
Biermann's lawyer, Marlys A. Bergstrom, stated to Us at the time, "If the court orders it, then the court can enforce the order. This action takes control away from the parties involved, which is necessary at this point."
Biermann contended that his estranged wife was purposely delaying the divorce proceedings in order to extend her stay in their shared residence in Georgia.
"In her statement, [Zolciak-Biermann] expressed her preference for filing for bankruptcy, a decision that would effectively keep both parties and their children living together for a considerable amount of time," Biermann alleged in a court filing in September. "Due to the lack of funds acquired from selling the marital property, neither party is financially capable of relocating to new residences."
Biermann and Zolciak-Biermann have agreed to sell their Georgia mansion, which was officially listed for sale on Monday. The property is priced at $6 million, and the sale proceeds could help alleviate the legal and financial challenges faced by the separated couple. The duo reportedly owes the IRS $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, and their house was at risk of foreclosure in November. Furthermore, Zolciak-Biermann was sued in August for not making payments on her HSBC/SAKS credit card, which has an outstanding balance of $156,080.64, according to court documents obtained by Us.
Zolciak-Biermann filed a request for a complete divorce from Biermann on Monday. She stated that they have been living separately since September 7, while still residing in their Georgia home. She concluded by asking the court to grant her a fair share of all assets and debts acquired during their marriage, including the sale of the Georgia property in the future.
