Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Lauren Manzo’s husband, Vito Scalia, has reportedly filed for divorce after eight years of marriage.

Vito, aged 37, filed for divorce from Lauren, aged 35, who happens to be Bravo star Caroline Manzo's daughter, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the separation. According to documents acquired by The Sun on Monday, October 23, it is mentioned that the marriage has experienced irreconcilable differences for at least six months, leading to the breakdown of the relationship with no hope of reconciliation. Scalia, in the submitted documents, attested to the fact that there is no reasonable chance of salvaging the marriage and therefore it should be dissolved.

Lauren received the legal documents on September 29, according to the outlet. Her attorney later notified the court that he would be representing her and handling all financial matters, such as alimony, division of assets, and legal fees.

We previously reported that Lauren and Scalia got married in a Bravo-filmed wedding in July 2015, following a two-year engagement. They became parents to their daughter, Markie, in February 2017. Lauren captioned an Instagram photo of herself and the newborn, referring to her as "My Markie Girl."

Speculation arose in 2017 when fans noticed that Lauren had not posted a social media photo of her husband for over a year, leading to rumors of a breakup. Scalia addressed the rumors in a Facebook post in January 2019, stating that they choose not to share their relationship on social media. He emphasized that their relationship is strong. Recently, rumors resurfaced when Lauren posted on Instagram without wearing her wedding ring, but she promptly responded to those questioning her relationship status.

"In July, she bluntly expressed her indifference towards whether or not people admire her. She also emphasized that she has not appeared on television for seven years. Furthermore, she asserted her right to keep certain aspects of her life, particularly after becoming a parent. She made it clear that those who do not approve of her decision should simply avoid her page.

Throughout this year, Lauren has experienced numerous changes. In May, she publicly shared her achievement of losing 80 pounds, attributing her success to the weight loss drug Mounjaro. She further disclosed that she had adopted a gluten and dairy-free diet over a year ago, undergone a Lap-Band surgery, and subsequently had it removed. Her weight had reached 208 pounds at its highest point, as she revealed in an interview with Page Six."

The former reality star acknowledged that there are some who either dislike or commend the drug. She further explained that it involves receiving a weekly injection in the stomach, similar to Ozempic. Lauren honestly believes that issues such as obesity greatly impact people's mental health, including herself. She expressed how the struggle with this issue has been present since she was 20 years old, making it exceedingly challenging for her. Alongside her mother and brothers Albie and Chris Manzo, Lauren made her debut on RHONJ during the first five seasons, which premiered in 2009. Additionally, she and her siblings were featured in the Bravo spinoff series Manzo'd With Children from 2014 to 2016.
