A new questline has been introduced in World of Warcraft, which has left fans speculating about the potential dark future of a beloved character. This twist holds significant importance for fans of the game, both inside and outside the World of Warcraft community. The Silver Scale questline was released as part of the Dragonflight Patch 10.1, and it concluded the story quests. The return of Travard, a Paladin NPC from the Tyr's Guard that was introduced during the Legion expansion, was hinted at through voice lines, leading to the speculation of a potential storyline. Warning: Spoilers for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight below.
During the player's journey, they are accompanied by Koranos and Travard as they venture towards the final resting place of Tyr, the Dragon Aspects' creator. As players extract Tyr's memories, they are able to relive his ultimate battle against Zakajz, the void monster. Throughout the encounter, Zakajz summons corrupted versions of Neltharion, Malygos, Ysera, and Nozdormu, foretelling their eventual downfall to corruption. In a final twist, Zakajz takes on the form of Alexstrasza, claiming that she will also turn against the Titans in the future.
While Zakajz's predictions for the other Dragon Aspects have all come true, there is no evidence to support Alexstrasza's betrayal. It is possible that Zakajz was attempting to deceive Tyr into despair. Nevertheless, Watcher Koranos is clearly affected by this experience, and it is likely to have future implications.
Some World of Warcraft enthusiasts are actively exploring other parts of Dragonflight, hoping to discover any indications that Alexstrasza may become a future boss. Interestingly, at the conclusion of the Silver Scale quest, Tyr's new form briefly moves and a few players pointed out that his hand was directed towards the location of Alexstrasza. While it may not hold any significance, some speculate that Tyr was attempting to convey a message.
In Patch 10.1, Alexstrasza and the dragons have made progress in reclaiming their powers with the appointment of a new Aspect for the Black Dragonflight, marking the first time in millennia that all flights have a unified leader. However, the upcoming Patch 10.1.5, Fractures in Time, poses a challenge with the possibility of Nozdormu becoming Murozond in the Dawn of the Infinite megadungeon. The longevity of this newfound unity remains uncertain.
