During a concert in Boise, Idaho, on Wednesday, June 28, country singer Kelsea Ballerini was struck in the face by an object thrown by an audience member. Video footage shared on Twitter shows Ballerini pausing her performance of "If You Go Down (I'm Going Down Too)" while her band members went to check on her. After a brief moment, Ballerini left the stage. This incident adds to a series of similar occurrences at concerts.
Returning to the stage after a costume change, Ballerini acknowledged the incident and addressed the audience. In a TikTok video capturing the moment, she started by saying, "Let's talk about what just happened." Emphasizing the importance of safety, Ballerini urged the audience to inform someone nearby if they ever felt unsafe. With security present throughout the venue, she reassured them that they could seek help if needed. Without mentioning the object that hit her, Ballerini encouraged the audience to be more considerate, stating, "Please refrain from throwing things." Stressing her desire for a safe atmosphere, especially with young children in attendance, she asked for the audience's cooperation in creating a harmonious environment for everyone.
Days after Bebe Rexha was struck in the face by a cell phone during a performance in New York City on June 18, an incident occurred. The following day, the 33-year-old pop star shared an Instagram photo depicting her injury, which had been stitched up, and a black eye. Alongside the image, she reassured her fans, stating, "I'm good."
Nicolas Malvagna, the person who hurled the phone, was apprehended and faced charges of assault. During his arraignment on June 20, he asserted that he was taking part in a TikTok fad whereby one throws their phone at a celebrity with the intention of capturing a selfie before it is returned.
Mr. Malvagna's lawyer, Todd Spodek, stated that his only intention as a fan was to have Ms. Rexha take photos with his phone and return it as a memento. He never intended to cause any harm to Ms. Rexha. Following his arrest, Malvagna was released without bail and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, July 31.

The incident was shared on Twitter by the 29-year-old “Sweet But Psycho” singer, who expressed her displeasure and banned the person responsible from attending future shows.
Adding to the string of unusual fan interactions, Pink encountered her own peculiar incident during a performance in London's Hyde Park. While on stage on June 25, a concertgoer threw a baggie filled with gray ashes onto the stage.
"This is your mother?!" exclaimed the 43-year-old "Raise Your Glass" singer, displaying clear surprise and confusion. "I'm not sure how I should react to this!" With that said, she gently set the bag aside and proceeded to resume her performance.
