Shawn Johnson and husband Andrew East had to adjust to having three kids.
“We’re slowly getting into a routine,” Johnson, 32, told We exclusively. “It was tough at first, but we’re finally settling in and it's starting to feel more manageable.”
The couple had two children together, a daughter named Drew who is 4 years old and a son named Jett who is 2 years old. In December 2023, they welcomed their third child, a baby boy named Barrett, affectionately known as "Bear."
Reflecting on the initial weeks of having three children, Johnson shared that it surprisingly felt quite manageable. However, the challenge they faced was that Barrett was their first baby who experienced colic, something they had never encountered before. They had to learn how to navigate this new experience and find ways to soothe their son.
It took Johnson and East about six to eight weeks to understand their baby boy Bear because every baby is unique. But now, they have figured him out and things are going well.

“He’s just the happiest little camper, and so we’re figuring out that groove,” Johnson gushed. “But I’d say [baby] three was the hardest.”
Johnson mentioned that she and East have decided not to have any more biological children in the future. However, they are open to the possibility of expanding their family through adoption. Adoption will remain a viable option for them if they choose to continue growing their family.
Johnson shared that introducing their youngest sibling to their three kids, Drew and Jet, was surprisingly smooth and heartwarming. The siblings instantly formed a strong bond with their baby brother, taking on the roles of protectors and helpers. It was a special and touching experience to see how much love and care they showered on their newest family member.
Johnson manages to maintain order in her household with three kids by focusing on their food choices. Fortunately, none of her children are picky eaters.
She makes it a point to offer them a variety of options and show them different choices. Johnson is pleased that her kids enjoy eating vegetables and fruits, although they still have a soft spot for toddler foods.
However, the entire household is in agreement on MorningStar Farms, which was “already in our fridge and freezer” before Johnson even partnered up with the brand.

Shawn Johnson shared on Instagram that there was a petition to bring back the Riblets, which she found amazing and funny. She mentioned that the passion behind the petition was great. The Riblets will be officially reintroduced next month in two flavors: Sweet BBQ and Korean BBQ. Shawn expressed her excitement for their return, stating that she and her family have already tried and enjoyed them. She particularly appreciates the protein aspect of the Riblets, especially as a parent always looking for new and creative meal options.
One fortunate fan will have the opportunity to try the Riblets with Johnson before they are reintroduced by participating in the “First Dibs” sweepstakes, which will be open from March 19 to March 29.
Johnson expressed, "Someone will have the chance to join us for lunch in Nashville, which will be a great time. It's a fun campaign that I truly enjoy."
