Shannen Doherty remembers the playful antics between her and Jennie Garth while filming Beverly Hills, 90210.

During a recent episode of her podcast, "Let's Be Clear," Doherty, 52, shared a funny story about Garth's "Pants-Down Day" where she would jokingly pull down the pants of some crew members on set. However, not everyone found it amusing and some were starting to get a little irritated by it.

Doherty responded by organizing a "Skirt-Up Day" to counter Garth's antics. The actress revealed that Garth, 51, always wore men's Calvin Klein boxer shorts under her clothes, so she thought it was not a big deal. When she initiated the "Skirt-Up Day," Garth did not take it well, but Doherty stood her ground.

Beverly Hills, 90210 aired for ten seasons from 1990 to 2000. Doherty played Brenda Walsh, the main character, for the first four seasons before being dismissed from the show in 1994.

Green, 50, reflected on the confrontation with Garth, describing it as a significant moment for everyone. He mentioned that both he and his costar Ian Ziering intervened to prevent the situation from getting worse. Doherty also revealed that there was a constant tension among the female cast members while on set.

Doherty shared her observation about the dynamic between the male and female cast members. She noted that the male actors had a strong bond and were always supportive of each other, congratulating one another. However, she felt that the same level of camaraderie was not always present among the female actors.

Green acknowledged the challenges, even suggesting that Doherty was downplaying the difficulties. He recalled, "I remember it got really rough and competitive for you all; That was not an easy situation to watch."

Doherty's remarks followed her and former Charmed colleague Holly Marie Combs' accusations that Alyssa Milano played a role in Doherty's departure from the show.

Producer Jonathan Levin explained that they didn't intend to let go of Shannen, but felt forced into a difficult situation. Combs, aged 50, shared this information on a December 2023 episode of “Let’s Be Clear.” She mentioned, “We were given an ultimatum by Alyssa, it was either her or Shannen, and Alyssa threatened to take legal action against us for creating a hostile work environment.”

Combs further stated that Milano, who is 51 years old, accused Doherty of fostering a toxic work environment. However, she pointed out that none of the crew or guest stars had ever noticed or mentioned any issues. She emphasized, “Every director would be happy to work with you again, and every crew member had a wonderful experience working with you.”

Milano has denied the accusations made against her. She expressed her disbelief in the negative comments about the show Charmed, which she claims was a huge success. According to her, it is strange that the cast members are still speaking negatively about their experience on the show after a quarter of a century. Milano took to Instagram to share her thoughts, stating that any retelling of the stories from that time is just a form of revisionist history.

Doherty responded to Milano's statement during a fan convention in February. She refuted the idea of revisionist history by emphasizing that the truth was told during their time on Charmed. Doherty dismissed claims of conflict on set, such as throwing brushes or shoes, arriving late, or needing a mediator. She firmly believes in the accuracy of her memories and the impact of the experience on her. Doherty revealed that what others may view as drama was actually a traumatic experience for her, which has affected her for a significant period of time.

Charmed ran for a total of eight seasons from 1998 to 2006. In the show, Combs took on the role of middle sister Piper Halliwell, while Milano portrayed the youngest sister, Phoebe. Doherty initially played Prue, the eldest Halliwell sister, but her character was unexpectedly killed off in season 3. She was then replaced by Rose McGowan, who took on the role of Paige.
