Shannen Doherty Stuns with Inspiring Battle Against Cancer, Receives Thunderous Standing Ovation at 90s Con

Shannen Doherty, battling cancer, receives overwhelming support and a heartfelt standing ovation at a 90s Con event, a testament to her enduring strength and the outpouring of love from fans

Shannen Doherty was showered with love over the weekend.

The actress reunited with some of her "Beverly Hills 90210" costars for a 90s Con panel in Tampa, Florida.

Doherty, who has been battling stage 4 cancer, received a standing ovation from the audience as the event came to a close, as reported by People magazine.

Expressing her gratitude, Doherty, visibly emotional, thanked the crowd saying, "I am incredibly grateful. You all understand how I constantly find solace in shedding tears. It seems to be my nature. Thus, I sincerely thank each one of you."

The 52-year-old actress was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, which went into remission after two years. In 2020, Doherty revealed that the cancer had made a comeback, spreading and reaching stage 4.

In June of this year, she disclosed that her cancer had metastasized to her brain.

"I have a fight for my life, that I deal with every day," she said on Sunday. "I think I am really great."

Doherty is continuing to work, however.

She told convention attendees that shes launching a new podcast in November titled "Lets Be Clear," described "a live interactive memoir."
