A newly found glitch in Tears of the Kingdom has been discovered, allowing Zelda players to quickly amass wealth with minimal effort. The rupee serves as the esteemed currency in the Zelda franchise, enabling Link to purchase a wide range of items and outfits during his numerous adventures. Surprisingly, acquiring rupees in Tears of the Kingdom proves to be more challenging, prompting players to devise ingenious methods of earning money for expensive purchases such as building houses in Tarrey Town.
While there exist numerous legitimate means of obtaining rupees, primarily through the sale of items and resources, many Tears of the Kingdom players have resorted to duplicating items to simplify the process even further. In every update released by Nintendo thus far, players have stumbled upon various glitches and exploits that enable them to duplicate valuable items like gemstones, resulting in a stacked inventory that can be easily sold. In the most recent version of Tears of the Kingdom, players have uncovered yet another technique for item duplication in order to generate effortless profit.
Hold Smuggling, a new exploit discovered by Gaming Reinvented, enables players of the popular game Tears of the Kingdom to repeatedly sell a specific set of items that appear to be stuck in a held position. This glitch can be used to accumulate a maximum amount of rupees, reaching up to 999,999. To perform this exploit, the player needs to locate a tall ledge and position their horse directly beneath it.
Equip a low-cost item and press and hold the throw button while Link leaps off, aiming to land on his horse.
Before landing, pause the game and hold one of each item to sell. It is important to ensure that there is still at least one item remaining in the inventory that is not being held.
Watch an unlocked memory.
Hold the same items again, unpause, and land on the horse.
Head to a shopkeeper, prepare to throw an item again so the option to sell appears with the merchant.
Sell the items that have been held.
After leaving, return to the selling menu and the recently sold items will reappear in Link's inventory, ready to be sold again.
This rupee farming technique is not a new discovery for players. A relatively simple method called the Frozen Meat Glitch has recently been uncovered. To execute this glitch in the Tears of the Kingdom game, players must have the Autobuild ability unlocked. They can then construct a makeshift contraption made of wood and meat, which can be used in snowy areas. Instead of being crafted, the meat will freeze and drop to the ground. Players can repeat this process and sell the stacks of Icy Gourmet Meat to a vendor.
Nintendo will likely act swiftly to resolve this new glitch, as it is not the first time duplication glitches have appeared in the game. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom for the Nintendo Switch has had numerous duplication glitches discovered by players, and Nintendo has consistently addressed each one through updates.
