Scheana Shay and Brock Davies strongly oppose Nick Viall's public support of negative comments about their marriage.
"I feel like I've been a frequent topic on his recent podcast episodes because he appears to have no other material to discuss. He continues to bring Charli [Burnett] on, and Katie [Maloney] and Dayna [Kathan] just did a recent episode," the 38-year-old Vanderpump Rules star expressed on her "Scheananigans" podcast episode on Friday, January 12th.
Shay believed she was friends with Viall, 43, until she heard what was said on his podcast.
"I have known him for years, I have his phone number, and we have collaborated on social media. I have even appeared on his podcast," she said. "Charli referred to [Brock] as a payroll husband, and in the next episode, I think he referred to [Brock] as the payroll husband."
During the episode, Shay raised the question of what the term “payroll husband” even meant since Davies, 32, didn’t receive payments from her. She also expressed to her husband, who was a guest host on her podcast, how “misogynistic” it was to hear people say she couldn’t be her household’s breadwinner.

"Family support comes in various forms, and financial assistance is just one of them. You provide invaluable support to me and our family in countless ways. I wouldn't be able to accomplish everything without your consistent presence and support at home. Your work-from-home setup also greatly supports me," she added.
Shay took a jab at Viall for working with his fiancée, Natalie Joy, on specific projects, saying, "That really bothered me, especially when his fiancée is being paid to do so. It's rich coming from you." Davis also chimed in, criticizing Viall for not standing up for them and mentioning his past on reality TV.
"Nick, I want to maintain a positive outlook. But bro, if your wife was the primary decision-maker in your family and you have a child, what would you do? There’s no need to be calling [me that],” the former rugby player commented. “Plus I would like to highlight that the guy is 42 and he appeared on a dating show, then another dating show, and then yet another dating show.”

Viall first appeared on the Bachelor franchise in 2014 on The Bachelorette season 10. He was the runner-up on Andi Dorfman's season and then returned for season 11 to compete for Kaitlyn Bristowe‘s affection. Viall later appeared on Bachelor in Paradise season 3 before becoming the Bachelor in 2016.
Davies joked about Viall's dating history on the podcast, mentioning that despite being on three dating shows, he left without a partner. He also noted that Viall was 38 when he met his 20-year-old fiancée, but added that he wouldn't read into that and that Viall could do whatever he wanted. Viall had been connected to multiple women before publicly dating Joy, who is 24. They are now engaged and expecting their first child, with their age difference being a topic of conversation that Viall has also joked about.

"We began messaging online, and I verified her identity. I wanted to ensure that she was a genuine person," Viall discussed their 18-year age difference on a podcast episode of "The Squeeze" in March 2023. "At the time, I was very self-conscious about the age gap. I was very cautious."
Joy remembered realizing that Viall was The One after their initial meeting, and said, "I knew after that weekend that I was going to spend the rest of my life with this man. And I knew it, but he didn't. So I decided to just wait because I knew he would eventually come around. I asked him several times to date me."
