Savannah Chrisley opened up about the reasons behind her estrangement from her older siblings, Kyle and Lindsie Chrisley.
During an episode of the "Old-ish" podcast hosted by Sharna Burgess and Brian Austin Green, Savannah, 26, shared that her two oldest siblings are from her father's previous marriage. She explained that throughout the years, there has been a lot of anger and resentment stemming from the fact that her parents stayed together while their own parents did not. Furthermore, Savannah believes that the jealousy and other factors related to the success of their reality TV show also contributed to the strained relationship.
Todd Chrisley has two children, Lindsie (34) and Kyle (32), with his ex-wife Teresa Terry. He married his current wife Julie Chrisley in 1996 and they have two children together, Savannah and Chase, as well as Todd's 10-year-old granddaughter Chloe. After Todd and Julie were sentenced to prison in November 2022, issues arose between Savannah and her half-siblings. Savannah, who took on the role of primary guardian for her younger brother Grayson and Chloe, accused Kyle and Lindsie of being involved in her parents' downfall.
“The two eldest siblings were also implicated in my parents’ criminal proceedings ... collaborating with the authorities, ample evidence substantiates these claims,” she asserted. “Consequently, I have reached a definitive juncture. My allegiance lies with my parents and those who have consistently supported, cherished, and stood by me throughout. They are entirely removed from this equation.”
Savannah has learned the valuable lesson that as she has matured, she must be more cautious about the individuals she decides to maintain close relationships with.
"Just because we share a family bond doesn't obligate me to endure being treated as a punching bag or tolerate toxic behavior. I truly believe that some of my friends have been more supportive and caring than certain members of my own family. Ultimately, the pain I experience may not originate from me, but I have the power to put an end to it."
In a recent statement, Lindsie expressed her willingness to privately discuss the ongoing conflict with Savannah but made it clear that she will not participate in any unhealthy actions or exchanges.
"I expressed my willingness to handle this situation privately if she also desired that approach," Lindsie stated during an October episode of her "Southern Tea" podcast. "I was open to keeping things confidential since I had never initiated the conversation. In fact, when reflecting on how this all began, I even assumed responsibility for certain matters that I shouldn't have had to publicly shoulder. I did so on this podcast in an attempt to resolve the issue and restore harmony."
