Todd Chrisley is adamantly declining to meet Robert Shiver, the new boyfriend of his daughter Savannah Chrisley. Savannah, 26, revealed to Entertainment Tonight on November 9 that her father's opposition stems from his unwillingness to witness their relationship in its current surroundings. She attributes his stance to a sense of male pride.
Todd Chrisley, 54, and his wife Julie were found guilty in November 2022 of 12 charges related to tax evasion, bank fraud, and wire fraud. Todd's original prison sentence of 12 years was later reduced to 10 years, while Julie's initial seven-year sentence was shortened by 14 months. The couple, known for their roles in the reality TV show Chrisley Knows Best, have children together named Savannah, Chase, and Grayson. Todd also has two children, Lindsie and Kyle, from a previous marriage.
Savannah and Shiver made their relationship public on Instagram last week with a series of heartwarming photos, including one capturing a tender kiss between them. "Sometimes... it just works ❤️," she wrote in the caption.

"Moms is completely supportive because she wants to meet him if you two are going to be in a relationship," she expressed. "I've already shown her pictures of us and she's familiar with our stories, so she's living through me indirectly. So, there's no doubt that he will meet Mom. As for Dad, it's uncertain, but hopefully things work out in our favor and they return home soon."
In regards to her own thoughts, Savannah mentioned to the outlet that she yearns for conversations about her dating life with her father.
"I have always shared everything with anyone I have dated. I miss having those conversations and being able to tell him all the wonderful things happening in my relationship, and how amazing Robert is. I also wanted to share how he has handled certain situations in my life. We are very similar, so it feels like he is the male version of me."
Regarding her new relationship, Savannah mentioned that the response has been mostly positive, about 95 percent. However, they have received some criticism as well. Her new partner is still married to his estranged wife, Lindsay Shiver, who allegedly planned to hire a hitman to kill him. They filed for divorce in April.
Savannah admitted, "The situation in his life could potentially endure for years, you know? I mean, he has already initiated divorce proceedings. I understand the desire for him to be officially divorced, but realistically, should he just put his life on hold for two or three years?" She added, "It's challenging to absorb all the criticism that's directed towards me."
