Sam Asghari, 29, came to the defense of his ex-girlfriend Britney Spears, 41, following a mocking Instagram post by Donald Trump Jr. The post, shared by Trump, 45, on Sunday, October 1, featured a meme comparing America under Trump and America under Biden, with two pictures of Spears - one from the early 2000s and another from a recent video of her dancing with knives. Captioning the post with a simple "Yup," the politician ignited criticism.

Asghari responded by writing, "Being a bully is not acceptable, @donaldjtrumpjr," according to a screenshot shared on Instagram by the Spears fan account BreatheHeavy. This comes after Spears gained attention for dancing with fake knives in an Instagram video, leading to a wellness check by the police.

Captain Dean Worthy of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office expressed concern for Britney's mental well-being after someone close to her spotted a video on social media in which she was dancing and twirling knives. On Thursday, September 28, Worthy stated that despite not being allowed to meet with Britney at her Thousand Oaks, California, residence, officers concluded that she was not in any danger after communicating with her attorney.

Following the previous post that caused alarm, Spears reassured everyone by sharing another video of knife-dancing the next day. Via Instagram on September 29, she clarified that the knives used are fake and rented from Hand Prop shop in LA. She emphasized that there is no need for concern or involving the police, as she was simply imitating her favorite performer Shakira. Spears commended the courage of "bad girls" like herself who push boundaries and embrace risks.

On August 16, Asghari filed for divorce from the singer known for her song "Circus," citing "irreconcilable differences" as the cause of their split. The couple, who had been together for almost six years, got married in June 2022 and separated just over a year later.

Later that month, a source informed Us that there are suspicions within Spears' close circle that Asghari will oppose their prenuptial agreement. The insider stated that Britney's associates have felt in the past few years that Sam had hidden motives. Additionally, the insider remarked that while he doesn't desire to be aggressive with Britney, he is prepared to do so if necessary.

On another note, Asghari's family expressed gratitude that he ended his relationship with Britney when he did. In an exclusive interview with Us on September 26th, another source shared that, deep down, they never believed she was the right match for him, despite their everlasting love and support for Sam.

Asghari hinted at his plans after the breakup during an interview with E! News on Sunday. He mentioned that he is currently developing an unscripted series focused on assisting people. He expressed his desire to contribute to others, as he was once helped by many individuals himself, and finds it truly meaningful. On the other hand, Spears has been occupied recently with various projects. She has collaborated with Will.i.am on the track "Mind Your Business" and has been working on her upcoming memoir, titled The Woman in Me, which was finished before her separation from Asghari. The book is scheduled for release on Tuesday, October 24.
