He added, “It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on.”
Why Sam Asghari Will Never Talk Bad About Britney Spears Post-Divorce
Asghari filed for divorce from Spears in August last year after being married for 14 months. The couple first met on the set of the singer's "Slumber Party" music video in October 2016, where he starred as her love interest. Their relationship quickly blossomed, and they made their public debut as a couple in 2017. Several years later, as Spears gained control over her own life following the end of her conservatorship, Asghari proposed to her in September 2021. They exchanged vows and got married on June 9, 2022.
As their divorce is still in progress, Asghari is reportedly requesting spousal support. However, a source informed Us in July 2022 that he and Spears had signed a strict prenuptial agreement protecting Spears' estimated $60 million fortune before their marriage. The insider mentioned that the singer found it challenging to discuss the specifics of how much Asghari would receive.
According to the legal document, Asghari is entitled to " $1 million for every two years" of their marriage, with a maximum of $10 million after 15 years, as stated by the insider. Asghari has also agreed to forgo any claims to Spears' extensive music catalog. Despite finalizing the details before their separation, Asghari has reportedly attempted to make adjustments to their agreement.
Insiders revealed in a January cover story that Britney Spears was not happy with her estranged husband dragging out the legal proceedings. According to a source, Sam feels he deserves proper compensation for everything he went through with Britney. The exact amount he is seeking is being kept confidential, but he is dissatisfied with Britney and her team's proposal.
The insider also mentioned that Britney is not willing to be pressured or rushed into giving Sam another large sum of money. She is determined to adhere to the terms outlined in their prenup agreement. Spears wants to strictly follow the agreement and believes that is all he is entitled to receive.
Asghari was Britney Spears' third husband. Her first marriage was to her childhood friend Jason Alexander in a quick Las Vegas ceremony in January 2004, which was annulled just 55 hours later. After that, she was married to Kevin Federline, with whom she has two sons, from September 2004 to July 2007.
Editor's P/S:
Sam Asghari's unwavering positivity and respect for his former wife, Britney Spears, is both admirable and refreshing. His refusal to engage in negative commentary highlights his maturity and genuine care for the well-being of his ex-partner. Asghari's belief in personal growth and honoring the past shows a deep understanding of life's complexities and the importance of cherishing shared experiences.
The ongoing divorce proceedings, however, reveal the delicate balance between maintaining a positive outlook and pursuing fair compensation. While Asghari's request for spousal support is understandable, his reported dissatisfaction with the agreed-upon terms suggests that the emotional toll of a divorce can sometimes overshadow financial considerations. Ultimately, it is crucial for both parties to navigate this legal process with respect and a willingness to compromise, ensuring a fair resolution that allows them to move forward with their lives in a healthy and fulfilling way.
