When asked about his "heroes," Ryan Gosling couldn't help but mention his longtime love, Eva Mendes.

During an interview with Men's Health published on Monday, April 22, the 43-year-old actor replied, "Well, Eva, obviously." He also shared that his uncle Bill is one of his heroes.

Gosling recalled how his uncle Bill supported him during his school days by promising to create a scrapbook of all his achievements. This gesture meant a lot to Gosling, as it showed that his uncle believed in him even when he didn't believe in himself.

His top priority is always his partner Mendes, 50, and their daughters Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 7.

He shared, "I often reflect on what will truly matter to me when I look back on my life. It really helps me see things clearly. Family always comes first for me. I may not have any professional regrets, but when it comes to Eva and the girls, they are my number one priority."

Gosling mentioned that he sometimes thinks about his "deathbed," admitting that it may not be a positive thing to dwell on. However, he finds it helpful in gaining perspective. He shared, "Whenever I'm facing a challenge, I consider if it will truly matter to me in the end, as the bigger picture can often be distorted."

Gosling and Mendes have been in a relationship since 2011, offering each other unwavering support over the years. When Gosling received an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Ken in Barbie, Mendes proudly praised his achievement.

Mendes also mentioned that she feels extremely proud to be associated with Gosling, referring to herself as "this Ken's Barbie."

Mendes explained that they prefer to maintain privacy, especially after a social media user criticized Gosling for not being more visible as a father.

In April 2020, Mendes addressed the issue by stating, "I choose not to discuss Ryan and his role as a father publicly because I like to keep that part of our lives private.
