Joe Gorga was expelled from his son Gino's wrestling match in New Jersey for walking onto the gym floor to confront the referee after disagreeing with a call. The incident took place at a Morris Plains high school on Saturday, January 6. Video footage of the incident was obtained by TMZ.

Joe was approached by the official, and two other men then restrained and pushed him towards the door. They could be heard telling him to "Get out!" as Joe continued to yell at the referee. A representative for Joe informed TMZ that the reality star believed the referee had made unfair calls during the match and that Gino's opponent was mistreating him. The spokesperson added that Joe had no intention of hurting anyone or getting physical, and simply let his emotions get the best of him.

Joe is married to Melissa Gorga and they share two children, 18-year-old daughter Antonia and 13-year-old son Joey. The entire family has appeared on RHONJ, which Melissa and Joe joined as full-time cast members in season 3. Their youngest son, Joey, was just a baby when they started on the Bravo series.

Melissa and Joe have been candid about their experience raising teenagers. Melissa playfully mentioned in 2021 to We that her husband was struggling to come to terms with the idea of Antonia beginning to date.

"He simply doesn't understand," she sighed. "Whenever we bring up Antonia and boys, he just gives us this confused look, like he can't believe it's happening. She's a sophomore, for goodness' sake. This is when it starts, and we need to have the sex talk. He's so uncomfortable, he can barely get the words out. It's just absurd."
