Jennifer Fessler, a star on The Real Housewives of New Jersey, revealed that she experienced a complication from her weight loss medication which led to her hospitalization. Despite this, she has chosen to continue taking the drug.

"During the December 4 episode of the "Two Jersey Js" podcast with cohost Jackie Goldschneider, 53-year-old Fessler revealed that she has been taking semaglutide, branded as Ozempic, for over a year and has lost approximately 22 pounds. Despite Goldschneider's criticism of using Ozempic for weight loss, Fessler is unconcerned about potential side effects."

"I have no fear of Ozempic, despite a negative experience - most likely due to the semaglutide - that landed me in the hospital with an impacted bowel," Fessler shared with her cohost. Despite labeling herself a “raging hypochondriac,” she confessed that her fear dissipates when it comes to her appearance, stating, "For instance, I have no fear of undergoing cosmetic surgery whatsoever."

Regarding the impact on her bowel, Fessler mentioned that she was dealing with constipation but didn't address it right away as she was aware that it was a common side effect of semaglutide.

She elaborated, "One thing that's new for me with semaglutide is that I can eat whatever I want, even if it's not the healthiest choice, and still lose weight. So, perhaps for the first time, I'm shedding pounds while indulging in pizza, bagels, and ice cream."

Ever since the episode of constipation, Fessler has made a conscious effort to increase her water intake and consume more vegetables. She came to the realization that continuing to eat unhealthy foods while taking semaglutide was not a wise decision. In addition, she enlisted the help of a personal trainer to assist her with her workout regimen.

“A lot of this you have to be proactive about,” she explained. “Am I worried about it? No. Am I aware of it and a little disappointed in myself for not addressing it sooner? Sure.”

During a March interview on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Fessler suggested that she was using Ozempic or a similar medication. "What am I on? Well, I did have a facelift and a nose job!" she exclaimed. "And I did lose a lot of weight. I took peptides, and I don’t know if you’ve heard of medications associated with that that help people lose weight. You said [the word Ozempic], I didn’t. But … whatever works, here I am."
