Real Housewives of Orange County star Emily Simpson has made significant progress in her weight loss journey, partly thanks to Ozempic. She recently shared that when filming for the show ended in November [2022], she didn't even recognize herself in a photo sent by the showrunner. Simpson admitted to neglecting her health during the filming period, indulging in excessive eating and drinking, neglecting exercise, and feeling down and depressed.
After completing filming, Simpson visited a doctor for a comprehensive blood test. During the appointment, the medical professional introduced the option of trying either Ozempic or a similar semaglutide.
"I had no idea what Ozempic was at that time," she shared with Us. "The doctor informed me about this new weight loss medication that had recently received FDA approval. They believed it could greatly assist me in losing weight, feeling better, and regaining my ability to exercise. I agreed to give it a try. In December, I started taking it, and it had a positive impact on my diet. It served as a catalyst for making healthier food choices because it left a terrible taste in my mouth, making everything taste unpleasant."
As Simpson embarked on her journey to conquer weight-related challenges, she found solace in a controversial drug designed to aid individuals in such battles. However, determined to achieve lasting results, she also underwent a transformative overhaul of her dietary choices and exercise regimen.
On Tuesday, Emily Simpson shared that she follows a strict fitness routine, which includes going to the gym every day of the week. She cuts out many things from her lifestyle and truly dedicates herself to her workouts, treating them as if she were training for a fitness competition. However, it bothers her when people attribute her transformation solely to the use of Ozempic, a medication she took many months ago. She feels that this discounts all the hard work she has put in. While she doesn't mind people mentioning Ozempic, she simply wants recognition for her commitment of waking up at 6 a.m. every morning and pushing herself in the gym seven days a week.
The Bravo star clarified that she intended to use Ozempic temporarily as a "jumpstart" for her new wellness routine, rather than as a long-term solution.
"When I began noticing improvements in my eating habits and some weight loss, it was really motivating. The liposuction on my arms also played a helpful role," she revealed to Us. "It gave me a good initial push, but it became challenging for me to carry on. With three young children, I couldn't afford to feel that way constantly. I couldn't tolerate the constant nausea. So ultimately, it was a short-lived but highly effective solution."
