After Emily Simpson showcased her svelte figure on Instagram last Friday, June 23rd, her comment section was inundated with accusations suggesting she had resorted to using weight loss medication.

"How effective is that Ozempic working for you?" one individual responded on social media. "I personally believed she looked incredibly attractive even before using Ozempic. I'm not passing judgment at all; I just find it disheartening that she feels the need to alter her body temporarily, knowing that it will eventually revert back to its previous state once she ceases taking it. In my opinion, she was already perfect."

The Real Housewives of Orange County star, aged 47, quickly denied the claims in her response. "You have no understanding of who I am, and nothing will 'revert back' because I have well-toned arms from intense lifting every day of the week," Simpson commented.

Ozempic is a medication prescribed to adults dealing with obesity or weight loss-related ailments like diabetes or high blood pressure. However, medications like Ozempic and Wegovy are not intended for casual weight loss.

"When it comes to maintaining weight loss, it is not advisable to rely solely on medication. Studies have shown that once you discontinue the medication, the weight tends to return quite quickly, regardless of whether it's a few months or a year later," emphasized Dr. Thomas Su, a plastic surgeon during an exclusive interview with We in March. "If your goal is to sustain long-term weight loss, relying solely on medication is not a recommended approach."

The attorney, who joined RHOC in 2018, has openly shared her personal experience with weight loss in the past.

“I put in immense effort to reach where I am today, and I take immense pride in my journey and the progress I continue to make," she shared on Instagram in November 2020.

"I experienced a significant loss of myself and my self-assurance when I gained 30 lbs. in just one year, all while millions of people watched me on a Reality TV Show. But here I am, a year and a half later, feeling alluring, self-assured in my own skin, and finally embodying the true essence of EMILY that I was always meant to be!"

Simpson later told Us that she spent two years working with a personal trainer “several times a week.”

"I will soon turn 46, and I strive to do my best," she shared exclusively in January 2022. "Finding a balance is key. I still enjoy indulging in champagne, cupcakes, and dining out, but I make an effort to prioritize exercise to maintain a sense of well-being. I don't want to feel miserable. I want to enjoy all these things, so I aim for a healthy balance."

At that time, Simpson also expressed, "I believe it's important to accept the stage of life you're in, as our bodies naturally go through changes. I can see the difference in myself. My metabolism has shifted, and that's just the reality. I may be bigger than I was in my 20s and 30s, and that's perfectly fine."

The Bravolebrity, who has three children with her husband Shane Simpson, shares that she does not let the number on a scale determine her wellness journey. While she does pay attention to sizes and desires to be a size smaller, she acknowledges that it may not happen and she is content with her body as it is. Her body is happy and comfortable where it currently stands.
