Speculation about the drug arose when The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed her slimmed-down physique in a bikini selfie in January 2023. Richards subsequently shared how reducing her alcohol consumption impacted her life.
"I honestly don't miss it," she wrote on her Instagram Story in February 2023 as she responded to messages from her fans. "I feel incredible, so I don't see the need for it at the moment."
In addition, Richards detailed her current workout routine, stating, "I absolutely adore my peloton! I now use it around three times per week and I used to incorporate strength training, but I've stopped doing that now. When I'm pressed for time, I really enjoy taking arms and intervals classes."
In the same month, the Halloween star addressed rumors that she was using Ozempic for weight loss, clarifying that the FDA-approved medication is typically prescribed to assist Type 2 diabetes patients in managing their weight.
"People who know me are aware that I am consistently waking up early, usually at 5:30 a.m. or 6 a.m. at the latest, and spend two hours at the gym," she stated in an interview with ExtraTV. "I am dedicated to maintaining a healthy diet, exercising regularly, and prioritizing my well-being. So, it's frustrating when people assume I took an easy route."
Richards expressed, "At times, I choose to overlook it, but it truly bothers me and I put in a lot of effort. I aspire to inspire others, so don't assume I took the easy path. Follow my journey and witness the transformations."
On the other hand, Catania confirmed on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that she utilized semaglutide to aid in weight loss. In April 2023, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star stated, "I didn't want to appear larger than anyone else at the reunion, so I jumped on the bandwagon." She further indicated that she experienced reduced appetite due to the medication.
The Bravo star mentioned that she was currently taking Mounjaro, another component of the Ozempic umbrella. She explained that she had a trainer and wanted to be honest about her journey. This sparked controversy, with viewers questioning why Bravo executive producer Andy Cohen was praising guests for their weight loss and inquiring about their use of Ozempic. Cohen acknowledged the validity of the criticism surrounding his comments.
"I'm committed to providing the best content for my audience. If Dolores appears noticeably slimmer, I am determined to uncover her weight loss journey," shared the Missouri native on his SiriusXM show, Radio Andy, shortly after Catania's appearance on WWHL.
Cohen continued to commend Catania for bravely discussing her use of the controversial weight loss method, acknowledging that there are many individuals who choose to remain silent about it.

She confessed that she did indeed use the semaglutide medication for a duration of one month in December. Reflecting on her visit to the doctor, she shared that she underwent a comprehensive blood panel which revealed high cholesterol levels and a lack of testosterone. Additionally, she mentioned being pre-diabetic, prompting her doctor to suggest the use of semaglutide, known as Ozempic, which she decided to try out.
Although the drug initially provided a helpful boost in her weight loss journey, with a shedding of five to seven pounds, she ultimately discontinued the use of Ozempic due to its tendency to induce feelings of lethargy and a significant decline in energy levels.

Jackie Goldschneider
During a February 2023 episode of Page Six's "Virtual Reali-Tea" podcast, the attorney, who remains open about their ongoing battle with an eating disorder, expressed their boundless enthusiasm for Ozempic. "I can talk about Ozempic endlessly. It truly ignites my passion," they exclaimed. However, their true concern lies in the potential aftermath when individuals are inevitably required to discontinue the use of this medication. "I am deeply horrified by this prospect. While the desire to shed pounds has always been a universally pursued goal, I am genuinely terrified of the potential consequences that will ensue when people are forced to cease taking this drug."
Goldschneider expressed concerns about the future, stating, "There is a looming possibility of a considerable surge in weight gain, leaving individuals feeling lost and unsure of how to handle the situation. This upcoming scenario worries me greatly. The aftermath may witness a significant increase in cases of eating disorders among many individuals. The process of shedding excessive pounds can be incredibly tempting and addictive. I speak from personal experience, as this was the catalyst for my own battle with anorexia. One becomes consumed by the allure of this transformed physique and the attention that accompanies it."
