In the series' inaugural episode, it was revealed that the depletion of fossil fuels and growing environmental apprehensions had prompted the phasing out of vehicles equipped with internal combustion engines. Nonetheless, a groundbreaking motorsport phenomenon called MFG surfaced, amassing a staggering 30 million loyal followers.
The sole directive governing this extraordinary sport mandated that cars adhere to a standardized grip-to-weight ratio. This innovative regulation spawned a riveting and unbounded racing experience that captured the hearts of countless enthusiasts.
The episode then introduced viewers to two main characters: Ren, an MFG Angel, and Kanata Rivington, a Japanese British youngster staying at her house.

In the MFG office, Kanata crossed paths with Aiba Shun, who took on the role of his mentor after hearing about his ambition to participate in the MFG qualifying race. The pair enjoyed a meal together and conversed about the renowned racer Beckenbauer and his high-performance Porsche.

Paying a visit to one of the shrines, which Ren had a hunch might be the location in the picture, Kanata proceeded to recount the tale of how his parents first crossed paths during his mother's teenage years, fell deeply in love, and eventually brought him into existence.
