One clever player of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom managed to enhance the traditional hoverbike design using the newest milestone in the game's rapidly developing building strategies. They promptly shared their discovery online, coinciding with Nintendo's release of the 1.2.0 update for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
While the game's dedicated fan base has created an assortment of impressive flying machines in Tears of the Kingdom, none can rival the simplicity, energy efficiency, and range of the basic hoverbike design. By attaching two fans angled slightly downward to a Zonai Steering Stick, players have found the easiest method to construct a dependable all-terrain vehicle since the game's release on May 12.
Reddit user Bored-Fish00 has successfully enhanced the classic Tears of the Kingdom air bike build by incorporating a guard rail, an exceedingly rare component solely located in one specific area of the game. With its remarkably lightweight and buoyant physics, connecting the Zonai Steering Stick to a pair of fans using the guard rail produces a hoverbike that surpasses the maneuverability of its original design. A recently viral video showcasing this modification illustrates the author effortlessly navigating the Construction Site Well situated to the west of Tarrey Town.
Individuals who are intrigued by this concept can obtain a guard rail by visiting the Construct Factory in Tears of the Kingdom. However, this location only becomes fully accessible after the player conquers the game's first four temples and progresses further in the main quest for a few additional hours. This component can be found in the fan-powered elevators extensively featured throughout the Construct Factory and can be detached using a single perpendicularly angled rocket.
Reaching the location may require several hours of gameplay, but the good news is that by using the Autobuild ability to save the guard rail, it can be permanently kept in one's inventory for just a few Zonaite pieces. Unlike other parts spawned with Autobuild, the guard rail does not disappear when detached from its original construction, making it a highly convenient and surprisingly reusable building component.
Furthermore, the guard rail has some exceptional qualities. It is non-conductive, impervious to fire, and remains undamaged even when hit with a weapon, as indicated by extensive player testing. These unique properties suggest that the improved hoverbike design resulting from the discovery of the guard rail is not the final advancement in the Tears of the Kingdom building meta.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
