Revive Your Old Characters with World of Warcraft's New Gear Update

In Patch 10.1.5, World of Warcraft players will soon have the option to revamp their old characters, providing a fresh take on these classic avatars. Unlike Final Fantasy 14's streamlined job system, World of Warcraft's classes and leveling system are geared towards alternate characters, with each hero limited by their class and race. While players can change their race, their class remains unchangeable. With the ever-changing balance of World of Warcraft classes, players may find themselves wanting to experiment with new specs. However, revisiting an old character after a few expansions can be daunting, with the need to organize equipment, bags, and quests before progressing.

Old characters in World of Warcraft can now receive a much-needed upgrade with the new Gear Update feature. This free "Welcome Back Gift" includes updating their gear, clearing their quest log, and providing them with a new set of inventory bags. Wowhead discovered this feature on the Public Test Realm build, which is just one of many quality-of-life improvements coming in Patch 10.1.5.

Players will finally be able to rearrange their character list on the selection screen with the return of a missing feature in Patch 10.1.5 for World of Warcraft. Blizzard has been slowly rebuilding the community's trust by listening to their demands and implementing highly requested features such as cross-faction guilds, more customization options, and new race and class combos. With the upcoming third Evoker spec and the promise of dragonriding beyond the Dragon Isles, the overall direction of the Dragonflight expansion has been a refreshing change for the game. However, the success of the expansion still hinges on Blizzard's ability to deliver a satisfying conclusion.
