Princess Leia, one of the most significant characters in pop culture, made her debut in the original Star Wars film as a princess on a seemingly diplomatic mission. She later transformed into a general who played a pivotal role in saving the galaxy numerous times. In a recent stunning cosplay by Steph (@Stephscosplay), Princess Leia is depicted alongside iconic Star Wars characters such as Darth Vader, a stormtrooper, and R2-D2, all meticulously crafted to capture the essence of the beloved film.
Leia's iconic appearance in A New Hope is perfectly captured in this cosplay, complete with her famous double buns hairstyle and Senatorial white gown. The costume also features Leia's signature blaster, which she wielded during the daring Death Star rescue mission. Despite not realizing her Force sensitivity until Return of the Jedi, Princess Leia of Alderaan was always ready to fight against the Empire, as evidenced by her actions in the first Star Wars film.
Princess Leia Organa Was A Key Member Of Star Wars’ Rebel Alliance
Leia Organa's involvement in secret missions for the Rebellion predates Luke Skywalker's departure from Tatooine, as seen in Star Wars Rebels. Bail Organa, Leia's adoptive father, played a direct role in the formation of the Rebel Alliance, as depicted in a deleted scene from Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. Growing up among politicians and spies, Leia, the princess of Alderaan, was a key figure in the Rebellion from a very young age.
Leia Organa's rebellion against the Empire started long before she officially joined the Rebel Alliance. According to retconned Star Wars canon, Leia and Obi-Wan Kenobi fought against Darth Vader and the Inquisitors when she was just 10 years old. It's possible that Leia's time with Obi-Wan and The Path inspired her to become a leader in the fight against the Empire. Even after the Empire fell, Leia continued to be a prominent figure in galactic politics. In the Star Wars Expanded Universe, she became the Chief of State for the New Republic. However, in Disney's Star Wars canon, she founded the Resistance due to her concerns about the First Order. Regardless of the continuity, Leia's determination to fight for what's right never wavered throughout the Star Wars saga.
