Armored Heart Cosplay (@cosplay_heart) has brought to life the beloved KOTOR Jedi Master, Bastila Shan, in stunning fashion. Knights of the Old Republic, much like Heir to the Empire before it, expanded the Star Wars universe in ways that even George Lucas had yet to explore. Although borrowing from the prequels' aesthetics, KOTOR delivered a wholly original, epic story with a cast of captivating characters. Bastila's fate was intertwined with that of the Jedi Order and the Old Republic as a whole, making her a fan favorite.
This Bastila cosplay showcases the KOTOR Jedi as a Sith, which is a nod to the game's storyline. In KOTOR, Bastila is temporarily swayed by the dark side of the Force after being tortured by Darth Malak. This adds depth to the already intricate and Shakespearean-like story of Revan and Bastila. The cosplay accurately depicts Bastila's iconic double-bladed lightsaber, now in the Sith's signature red color.
Many fans are eagerly anticipating whether or not Bastila will make an appearance in Disney's Star Wars canon.
The Knights of the Old Republic games, although not considered Star Wars canon after Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm, have still managed to make an impact on the franchise. Some concepts and locations from the games have been reintroduced to the Star Wars canon, and the Visual Dictionary for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker confirms the existence of a Sith Lord named Revan in the current canon.
Therefore, incorporating Bastila from Legends into the new canon, much like what was done with Revan or Grand Admiral Thrawn, would be a relatively simple task. However, despite the upcoming KOTOR remake, there are currently no announced plans for Lucasfilm to revisit the Old Republic era. Instead, the High Republic era, a recent addition to the Disney Star Wars canon, has taken center stage for stories set prior to Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace.
With the Star Wars: The High Republic imprint and shows such as Young Jedi Adventures and The Acolyte, the High Republic era has become a crucial focus for Lucasfilm. For the time being, it is possible that Star Wars may avoid delving into the Old Republic's unexplored territory. Nevertheless, it is never wise to rule out the possibility of a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic movie, or any other project that brings characters like Revan and Bastila to live-action.
