Reba McEntire fondly remembers the day almost four years ago when her relationship with boyfriend Rex Linn started.

The 69-year-old McEntire and 67-year-old Linn first crossed paths on the set of Kenny Rogers' movie, The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw, back in 1991. After thirty years, they found themselves working together again in 2020 on Young Sheldon, and their connection was undeniable.

"It was like a magnet," said The Voice coach in an interview with E! News published on Wednesday, April 9. Linn, who plays Principal Tom Petersen in the series, first met McEntire when she took on the recurring role of June that year. Despite being apart for five months after their initial meeting, McEntire recalled how they maintained their intimacy through texting and phone calls, which she believes strengthened their bond even more than if they had been together physically. Since reuniting on June 16, they have been inseparable.

The three-time Grammy winner mentioned that being apart for a few months turned out to be a positive thing. It gave them the opportunity to appreciate each other beyond just physical attraction.

According to her, this time apart allowed them to truly understand each other's personalities and imperfections. Instead of solely focusing on looks, they learned to love each other for who they are as individuals.

McEntire mentioned to E! that she loves a special quality of Linn: "He makes me laugh."

When they first met in 1991, McEntire was married to her second husband, Narvel Blackstock. They divorced in 2015 after 26 years of marriage. They have one son together, Shelby, who is 34 years old. Before Blackstock, McEntire was married to Charlie Battles from 1976 to 1987.

After going through two divorces, McEntire shared that she is open to the idea of marrying Linn. She expressed her commitment to him, saying, "I’m truly committed to Rex." McEntire mentioned that if marriage is something that Linn strongly desires because he has never been married before, she is okay with that decision.

The country music legend shared that her dog, Linn, played a crucial role in helping her through the most difficult period of her life. Her mother, Jacqueline McEntire, passed away in 2020 after battling cancer.

During an interview on the Today show in October 2023, McEntire expressed how having someone to share both the happy and sad moments with made a significant difference. She described her partner, Rex, as a source of positivity and love in her life.
