Arceus, the legendary Pokemon, is revered as the Alpha Pokemon and is widely recognized for its immense power. However, its distinctive design was not originally intended to have such significance.
Through the creative vision of Cheselth, a talented fan artist, Beta Arceus was transformed into a mesmerizing constellation infused with celestial elements. This artistic reinterpretation garnered widespread admiration and drew comparisons to an angel depicted with biblical accuracy. The concept of Beta Pokemon continues to resonate with fans, maintaining its popularity.
A Pokemon fan artist took the initiative to create and share their own version of Arceus, the Legendary Pokemon, in its beta form on social media. The artist received praise for their meticulous attention to detail and for bringing to life a lesser-known design of a well-established Pokemon that never officially made it into the public eye.
Referred to as the Alpha Pokemon, Arceus holds the prestigious title of being the box art Legendary Pokemon in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It plays a pivotal role in the creation myth of the Sinnoh region, being known as The Original One. With an impressive base stat total of 720 and the ability to transform into any Pokemon type by holding a Plate, Arceus ranks among the most formidable Pokemon ever discovered, excluding Mega Evolution and Gigantamax forms. Its appearance showcases a slender, pale body adorned with golden spikes and rings positioned at the center of its body, on the tips of its legs, and atop its forehead. Nevertheless, it is worth noting that the iconic depiction of Arceus did not always align with its original intentions.
On Reddit, a Pokemon enthusiast by the name of Cheselth showcased their artistic talent by creating a digital representation of the beta edition of Arceus. This artwork was shared on the dedicated Pokemon subreddit. While both the beta and final versions of Arceus were four-legged creatures, the beta variant possessed a captivating gleaming and ethereal appearance, complemented by orange eyes and lacking distinct characteristics. Cheselth decided to infuse their own creative perspective into their rendition of Beta Arceus, transforming the alpha Pokemon into a celestial phenomenon by outlining its body and eyes with stars. Additionally, the orange eyes were enhanced with celestial hues, while two golden rings adorned with Unown letters encircled Beta Arceus, symbolizing its divine essence within the creation myths of the Pokemon universe.
To provide a striking contrast and emphasize its unearthly nature, Cheselth incorporated a space-themed background. The Pokemon community expressed their admiration for Cheselth's creation in the comments section, with some even drawing comparisons to a "biblically accurate" angel. In response, Cheselth playfully acknowledged the Internet meme associated with biblically accurate angels by replying to certain users with the phrase "Be not afraid..." Despite its exceptional design, it is highly unlikely that Beta Arceus will find its way into official Pokemon releases.
Featuring artwork by Cheselth and talented artists who have crafted sprites of Pokemon from the Sinnoh region, the idea of Beta Pokemon continues to captivate avid Pokemon enthusiasts. Only the future holds the answer to what exciting creations fans will conjure up next.
