Ramona Singer Faces Distress and Vows to Maintain a Low Profile Amid N-Word Controversy

Ramona Singer Faces Distress and Vows to Maintain a Low Profile Amid N-Word Controversy

Former 'RHONY' star Ramona Singer left 'devastated' and excluded from BravoCon 2023 due to backlash over her use of racial slurs She plans to retreat from the public eye and reflect on her actions

Ramona Singer will not be attending BravoCon following the controversy surrounding her use of a racial slur in a text message. Fans may not see her for a considerable period of time, as she is currently overwhelmed by the situation and will choose to keep a low profile.

Singer was removed from the BravoCon lineup earlier this week following the publication of a text message by Page Six. In the message, the reality star used an abbreviated version of the N-word. The conversation was centered around a Vanity Fair exposé that discussed a previous Bravo investigation into Singer's alleged controversial remarks in front of former costar Eboni K. Williams.

According to an insider, Bravo executives did not explicitly say that Singer couldn't attend BravoCon. Instead, there was a discussion between them and Singer, and she expressed that she was not in the right state of mind and too distressed to attend. It was mutually agreed upon that it wasn't the appropriate time for her to participate. Ultimately, Singer decided not to go, and Bravo agreed with her decision due to the ongoing circumstances.

According to a source familiar with the situation, Bravo has decided to cancel Singer's planned trip to Las Vegas. The second source confirms that Ramona was informed she will not be able to attend BravoCon, and it was not her choice to abstain.

Ramona Singer, an original cast member of RHONY for its first 13 seasons, is slated to make an appearance in the upcoming fourth season of Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip. She will be joined by former RHONY cast members Luann de Lesseps, Kelly Killoren Bensimon, Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, and Kristen Taekman. Singer previously appeared in the first season of UGT, which premiered in 2021. De Lesseps, Bensimon, Medley, Morgan, and Taekman are all still confirmed to participate in the three-day fan convention.

According to the first source, Singer's Housewives run ended in 2021 and she was in a good place at that time. The insider reveals that although Singer participated in the show, she didn't enjoy being famous. It took her several years to adjust to being in the spotlight. Currently, she prefers a life away from the public eye and is happy in a romantic relationship. Additionally, her daughter Avery is growing up, and Ramona enjoys a pleasant life. The source also confirms that Singer was terminated from her real estate job at Douglas Elliman. However, they emphasize that her comments were not specifically directed at anyone.

"She is not racist," asserts an insider. Despite the ups and downs in Ramona and Eboni's relationship, Ramona never intended to create any problems or conflicts with her. She always admired Eboni, recognizing her intelligence and beauty, and genuinely wished her the best. Ramona believed that everything was fine between them.

As per Vanity Fair's report, Williams, who is 40 years old, sought meetings with NBCUniversal after learning that RHONY crew members had lodged a complaint against Singer to human resources in 2021. The complaint alleged that Singer had used a racial slur in front of a producer. Williams expressed, "Even in the midst of my own trauma, I realized that I held the most power among all the Black individuals involved in this situation. These young Black women are simply trying to pursue their careers."

Singer, meanwhile, told the magazine that she “never” used the N-word in conversation with a Black member of the show’s production staff.
