Queen Camilla resumed her royal duties after the Easter holidays by hosting an event at Buckingham Palace.
On Tuesday, April 16, the 76-year-old queen welcomed SafeLives' Changemakers Pioneers Discussion at the palace. She took photos with the charity's lead Sally Steadman-South, Chief Executive Ellen Miller, coordinator Kristie Waller, Chair of Trustees Isabel Boyer, and four young Changemakers.
SafeLives is a charity in the U.K. that works to end domestic abuse. Camilla, a patron of the organization, specifically supports young people who have experienced abuse. The SafeLives Changemakers, aged 14 to 20, play a key role in advising the charity on issues affecting youth.
In addition to taking photos with the members of the charity, Camilla also participated in a roundtable discussion with the Changemakers. She has collaborated with SafeLives and other organizations focused on supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
Tuesday's event was the first time Camilla appeared at a public event since she and King Charles III celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary on April 9. The couple, who got married in 2005, reportedly spent their special day at their Balmoral estate in Scotland.

Hello! It was reported that Charles, aged 75, and Camilla traveled to Aberdeen and had a lovely drive to the property the next day. This trip reminded them of the one they took to Birkhall during their honeymoon.
Charles and Camilla’s wedding has stirred controversy over the years due to the fact that they got married ten years after Charles finalized his divorce from Princess Diana.
During Charles and Diana's marriage, they had two children, Prince William and Prince Harry. However, Charles began an affair with Camilla while still married to Diana. He confessed to the affair with Camilla only after his marriage to Diana had irreparably broken down. Diana tragically passed away in 1997.

Charles and Camilla got married 35 years after they first met. Their wedding had to be approved by the late Queen Elizabeth II because Charles was already divorced and a member of the Church of England. This meant they didn't have a big royal wedding. Instead, they had a small civil ceremony at Windsor Guildhall and later received a blessing at St. George's Chapel at Windsor. The late queen couldn't make it to the ceremony, but she and Prince Philip attended the blessing and even hosted a reception at Windsor Castle.

Queen Camilla's dedication to supporting victims of domestic abuse is commendable. Her work with SafeLives and other organizations highlights the importance of addressing this pervasive issue. The Changemakers Pioneers Discussion at Buckingham Palace provided a platform for young people affected by abuse to share their experiences and advocate for change. Camilla's involvement in this initiative shows her commitment to empowering and supporting those who have faced such challenges.
The article also sheds light on the complexities of the relationship between King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Their wedding in 2005 was met with controversy due to its timing and the history of Charles's relationship with Diana. However, it is clear that the couple has overcome these challenges and built a strong bond over the years. Their visit to Birkhall during their wedding anniversary is a testament to their enduring love and the special memories they have created together.
