The PlayStation Plus Last Chance to Play section has announced the departure of 10 games from the Extra and Premium tiers of the subscription service in August 2023. While Essential tier subscribers can keep the free PS Plus games as long as they remain subscribed, this rule does not apply to the games available in the Extra and Premium tiers.
The games in the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers are regularly rotated in and out of availability. Sony introduces new games to these tiers every month, but also removes games from the lineup, typically in the middle of each month. The Last Chance to Play section informs fans which games will be leaving, and currently, there are 10 titles expected to be removed in August 2023.
PS Plus Extra and Premium Games Leaving August 2023
The PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers will no longer include the games 8-Bit Armies, Borderlands 3, Carmageddon: Max Damage, DCL - The Game, GRIP, Nidhogg, The Crew 2, Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2. The specific date of their removal has not been announced, but it is likely that they will be removed in the middle of August when the new batch of PS Plus Extra and Premium games are added.

In August 2023, several noteworthy titles will be removed from the PS Plus Extra and Premium tiers. One of the standout games is Borderlands 3, a highly acclaimed co-op first-person shooter by Gearbox that garnered positive reviews upon its 2019 release and enjoyed great success. Due to the extensive amount of content it offers, its absence from the PS Plus lineup will undoubtedly be disappointing for many fans.
While not as renowned as Borderlands 3, Nidhogg offers an impressive gaming experience that it's unfortunate to see removed from the PS Plus lineup. Fans of the Yakuza series will be let down by the removal of Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2, especially since Yakuza 0 is often regarded as one of the franchise's top games.
Fortunately, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers still have the opportunity to enjoy these games before they are taken off the service. Those interested should make sure to explore these titles as soon as possible.
