Princess Kate Middleton is dusting off an over century’s old tiara.
Kate, 41, looked unspeakably royal at a state banquet held on Tuesday, November 21 at Buckingham Palace.
Her outfit was topped off with the exquisite Strathmore Rose tiara, a stunning headpiece that had not been worn since the 1930s. This tiara, adorned with diamond roses and leaves, was once part of Queen Elizabeth II's mother's collection. Crafted in England in the late 19th century, it was a wedding present from her father, the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne, when she married King George VI in 1923.
Contrary to popular belief, princesses don't always wear a diamond tiara. It's a rare sight, even in the British royal family, where tiaras are only worn for special occasions such as events, galas, dinners, and receptions at Buckingham Palace.

She first wore the tiara on her wedding day on April 29, 2011, borrowing Queen Elizabeth’s Cartier Halo tiara for the occasion. Another tiara she has worn is the Lotus Flower, featuring pearls and diamonds, and was previously owned by Princess Margaret, the Queen’s younger sister.
The Lover’s Knot tiara, the third tiara that Kate has been spotted wearing, was commissioned by Queen Mary in 1913 and was a beloved piece of late Princess Diana's personal collection.
Princess Kate and Choo Kyung-ho, the Deputy Prime Minister of South Korea, were photographed together. Kate looked stunning in a custom white gown by Jenny Packham, which she wore to the state banquet. The floor-length dress had cape-like sleeves and shoulder pads, and she paired it with long white gloves and the customary Royal Victorian Order sash, star, and cross.
