Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Surprised Guests With an Unforgettable Tribute to Kevin Costner at a Star-Studded Fundraiser for First Responders

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle unexpectedly attended a charity event in support of local first responders in California. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, aged 39 and 42 respectively, made an appearance at the Fall One805LIVE! Festival on Friday, September 22, hosted at Kevin Costner's beachfront estate.

"Today is the highly anticipated day!" exclaimed a message shared on the organization's Instagram Story last Friday. "Get ready for an exhilarating evening with some unexpected guest appearances that you won't want to miss!"

The One805 nonprofit's annual festival serves as the highlight event, providing support to Santa Barbara, California's three main first responder agencies. With the goal of raising funds and honoring these heroes, a yearly music festival takes place at Costner's residence.

Harry and Meghan, who relocated to California county in 2020 following their withdrawal from senior working royal duties, also bestowed a distinctive accolade upon the 68-year-old Yellowstone actor. Meghan appeared in a grey coatdress, elegantly tying her hair into a sleek bun. Harry, on the other hand, chose an all-black suit for the occasion.

As shown in a video shared on One805's Instagram Story, Meghan retrieved a grey-and-red trophy and subsequently presented it to her husband. Harry, in turn, graciously handed the accolade to Costner, engaging in a handshake with him.

Addressing the crowd, Costner enthusiastically expressed his gratitude for the attendees and their support. He responded to the frequently asked question about the cost and value of the place by appreciating its significance on a day like today. Costner recognized the importance of celebrating individuals who are always ready to help others, emphasizing that the place has been fortunate for him and he has consciously avoided creating barriers. He concluded his remarks by graciously thanking everyone for their presence.

The benefit event, which showcased a captivating performance by Adam Levine and his band Maroon 5, was held at the former residence that Costner once shared with his ex-wife Christine Baumgartner. (Baumgartner, aged 49, initiated divorce proceedings in May which they recently resolved earlier this month. In July, she was required to vacate the property.)

Harry and Meghan surprised attendees by showing up at the One805LIVE! Festival right after returning from the Invictus Games in Düsseldorf, Germany.

During the closing ceremony on September 16, Harry, who has two children with Meghan, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "This week has been so much more than just a sporting event. It has become a platform for creating positive change." Meghan stood attentively among the crowd as he spoke.

"The impact of this event has reached far and wide, and we hope that you all feel it deeply," Harry continued. "While we may have provided the platform, it is you who have brought the magic. And never forget that."
