Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner's divorce battle has escalated in recent weeks, with the potential for things to become even more contentious. According to an insider, Kevin sees the situation as straightforward - Christine initiated the split, therefore she should adhere to the conditions outlined in their prenuptial agreement. This agreement stipulates that she must vacate the premises within 30 days after filing for divorce.
Baumgartner, 49, initiated divorce proceedings from the Yellowstone actor, 68, in May following a 19-year marriage. As their separation unfolds, the situation has become complicated, with Costner accusing Baumgartner of refusing to vacate their jointly owned residence. According to legal documents obtained by Us, Costner highlighted that their prenuptial agreement stipulates that Baumgartner had a 30-day period to relocate after initiating the divorce process.

Baumgartner's lawyer, John Rydell, argued that her ex-husband has no legal grounds to remove her and their three children from the property. In court documents obtained by Insider earlier this month, Rydell stated, "This RFO (request for order) seeks to kick Christine and their three children out of the house that the children have lived in for their entire lives. Although there is virtually no legal basis for Kevin's request to evict his wife and children from their home, this remains an extremely important matter for Christine."
Costner has also alleged that Baumgartner secretly used his credit card to cover the costs of their divorce, without his consent. According to court documents obtained by Us, Costner stated that his estranged wife has withdrawn a total of $95,000 from his bank account and charged it to his credit card, with the funds being directed towards her divorce attorneys and forensic accountant. A source reveals to Us that this could potentially lead to a contentious court dispute, as Costner is known for his unwavering determination and refusal to back down.
A second individual with insider knowledge reveals that Baumgartner believes Costner should vacate the property. The source expresses, "Christine firmly believes that he should be the one to leave. She is deeply resentful towards Kevin for what she perceives as prioritizing work over their family."

Baumgartner expressed discontent over Costner's filming schedule for Yellowstone, according to an insider who revealed this information to Us last month. The show had initially planned to air its fifth season during the summer, but due to delays, the premiere date was pushed back. The source explained that these schedule delays caused Baumgartner to miss out on valuable time with his family, which was cited as one of the factors contributing to the couple's split.
Costner resides in California with Baumgartner and their three children: Cayden, 16, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 13. He also has children from previous relationships, including daughters Annie, 39, and Lily, 36, and son Joe, 35, with ex-wife Cindy Silva, as well as son Liam, 27, with ex Bridget Rooney. The cowboy drama films in Utah and Montana, but Costner had initial reservations about participating in the show. It took extensive discussions with his family and convincing before he agreed to take on the project. Costner wanted their input and was concerned about being away from home for extended periods of time during filming.
Paramount Network has recently confirmed that Yellowstone will conclude with its fifth season, putting an end to the ongoing speculation surrounding Kevin Costner's relationship with co-creator Taylor Sheridan. However, fans can look forward to a new sequel that is currently being developed.
