Pete Davidson's comedy series, Bupkis, on Peacock, has unfortunately come to an end after just one season. Davidson, who is 30 years old, shared in a statement on Thursday, March 21, that his semi-autobiographical show will not be returning for a second season, even though it was renewed for more episodes in June 2023.

"I've always seen Bupkis as a window into my life, since it is so personal and about my struggles and family," the Saturday Night Live alum expressed. "After nearly a decade of my personal life being in the media I wanted a chance to tell my story my way."

Davidson continued by describing Bupkis as the project he's "most proud of" in his career. "I am so grateful to Lorne Michaels and Broadway Video, Peacock, Universal Television and the amazing cast and writers for helping me create something honest, funny, and heartfelt," he added.

Davidson wrapped up his statement by expressing his excitement for the next chapter in his life and his gratitude to all his supporters. He mentioned that he is looking forward to sharing his work with everyone.

The comedian was involved in various roles for the series, including being a cocreator, writer, and executive producer. The show made its debut in May 2023. It revolves around a fictionalized version of Davidson, who returns to Staten Island to live with his mother (played by Edie Falco) and grandfather (played by Joe Pesci). The storyline focuses on his journey in managing his growing fame, mental health, and relationships with family and friends.

The series had special appearances from Bobby Cannavale, Ray Romano, Machine Gun Kelly, Steve Buscemi, John Mulaney, Kenan Thompson, and Davidson’s former girlfriend Chase Sui Wonders. The show first aired three months before Davidson and Wonders, 27, ended their relationship in August 2023 after dating for less than a year.

Bupkiscancelation leaves a major season 1 cliffhanger unanswered as the season finale ends with Davidson seriously injured after getting into a car accident.

After the show premiered, Davidson briefly went to rehab in June 2023 to address his struggles with PTSD and borderline personality disorder. He then embarked on a series of stand-up performances across the country.

In recent shows, Davidson's girlfriend, Madelyn Cline, has been in attendance. We first revealed their relationship in September 2023. According to a source, the couple has been dating for several weeks and have quickly grown close. They initially kept their relationship private because they anticipated a lot of attention and speculation.

The 26-year-old actress from The Outer Banks has also charmed Pete's family. According to a source in November 2023, Pete's mom, Amy Waters Davidson, and sister, Casey Davidson, have expressed their approval of Madelyn. They are thrilled for Pete.

Cline had a brief appearance in Pete's Netflix special, Turbo Fonzarelli, in January. A photo showed her sitting on a private plane with some of Pete's friends from the King of Staten Island. The couple was later seen leaving Pete's comedy show in Philadelphia together on January 28.

Editor's P/S:

The cancelation of "Bupkis" after just one season is a disappointment for fans of Pete Davidson's unique brand of comedy. The show, which was highly personal and provided a glimpse into Davidson's struggles with mental health and relationships, resonated with many viewers. While the reasons for the cancelation are unclear, it is possible that the show's dark humor and unflinching portrayal of Davidson's life may have been too much for some viewers.

Despite the cancelation, Davidson remains a popular figure in the entertainment industry. His relationship with Madelyn Cline has been a source of interest for fans, and his recent stand-up performances have been well-received. It is likely that Davidson will continue to find success in both his personal and professional life, and his fans will eagerly await his next project.
