Orlando Bloom thinks his relationship with fiancée Katy Perry is perfect.

The 47-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star talked about his romance with the 39-year-old American Idol judge on Trevor Noah's "What Now?" podcast on Thursday, April 18. He also discussed his new Peacock docuseries, Orlando Bloom: To the Edge.

He shared with the former Daily Show host that he wouldn't change anything, even when it gets tough sometimes. He mentioned, "Because we’ve got these two giant careers and lives — and hers is even … it’s like a universe sometimes."

Continuing on, he expressed, "But I think I just keep coming back to her and trying to hold her hand and walk her back to the sand pit and be like … we’re just gonna build a sandcastle."

Noah shared with Bloom in a previous episode that he and Perry seemed to be chasing after a life filled with purpose, peace, and normalcy. The Carnival Row star then reminisced about what drew him to the "Roar" singer in the early stages of their relationship.

He mentioned, "One of the things that made me fall for Katy was... she doesn't like it when I say this, so I have to be careful, but her music was everywhere, right?" Her songs were playing on every radio station at the time, even though it wasn't necessarily his preferred genre. Despite that, he fell in love with Katheryn, a girl from Santa Barbara.

The couple first crossed paths at a Golden Globes afterparty in January 2016. Perry later shared the sweet story of how they met during an episode of American Idol.

She recounted, "I met my boyfriend at In-N-Out. We were both at the Golden Globes, but not together. So I asked my security guard to grab 10 In-N-Out burgers. Suddenly, I saw my boyfriend's hand reaching for one - even though he wasn't sitting at our table. I jokingly told him, 'Hey, that's my burger!'"

In February 2017, Bloom and Perry decided to go their separate ways. However, they reignited their relationship the next year and made their first public appearance as a couple on the red carpet in September 2018.

After Bloom proposed on Valentine's Day in 2019, the couple got engaged. Perry shared the exciting news in March 2020 that they were going to have their first child together. In August of the same year, they welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove. (Bloom is also a father to 13-year-old son Flynn, from his previous marriage to Miranda Kerr.)

Though Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have not yet gotten married, a source shared with us why they are taking their time with the wedding. The couple had to postpone their planned December 2019 nuptials due to a change in location. They later had to postpone again in 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the insider, their original wedding plans were just not meant to be. With the arrival of their beautiful daughter, she has become their main focus. Planning for their wedding has been put on hold for now. The source mentioned that while the wedding will happen eventually, at the moment, it is not something the couple is currently focused on.
