Highlights
Zoro's goal of becoming the Strongest Swordsman in the World requires him to be at his best and continue winning tough battles.
Zoro could potentially have a future encounter with Kaku, a highly skilled assassin and a prominent member of CP0.
Based on Zoro's brief confrontation with Fujitora, a powerful Navy Admiral who possesses gravity-manipulating abilities, it is likely that their paths will cross again during Zoro's quest.
Roronoa Zoro, a beloved character in One Piece, has always displayed immense potential. He has solidified his position as the series' most skilled swordsman, setting his sights on becoming the ultimate title holder, the Strongest Swordsman in the World.
Throughout his journey, Zoro has triumphed over formidable opponents, including the renowned King. This victory has provided him with a significant surge of self-assurance, essential for the challenges he will undoubtedly face beyond Wano. To attain his ambition, Zoro must consistently perform at his peak.
6 Kaku
Kaku and Zoro share a rich history, having first crossed paths in Water 7 and later engaging in a fierce battle in Enies Lobby. Zoro emerged victorious in their grueling fight, leading to Kaku's expulsion from CP9. However, it didn't take long for him to rise in ranks and join CP0 alongside Rob Lucci. Kaku, known as a masked assassin, has proven to be one of the most formidable members of CP0.
Their paths crossed once more on Egghead Island where Zoro and Kaku almost resumed their duel, but were interrupted by Stussy. Given their previous encounters, it is highly likely that they will face off for the third and final time. It will be intriguing to see the circumstances that lead to this anticipated showdown.
5 Shiryu
Shiryu, one of the Ten Titanic Captains of the Blackbeard Pirates, joined the crew during the chaos in Impel Down caused by Blackbeard and Luffy. Renowned for his sadistic tendencies, Shiryu derives pleasure from tormenting and killing individuals. As a result, he was imprisoned in Impel Down by Magellan, only to be freed when Blackbeard infiltrated the facility.
Shiryu possesses exceptional swordsmanship skills, often compared to Magellan's strength. Following a period of time, he consumed the Suke Suke no Mi, granting him the ability to become invisible and inflict devastating strikes on unsuspecting foes. It is inevitable that a confrontation between the Straw Hat Pirates and the Blackbeard Pirates will occur, with Shiryu likely engaging in a battle against Zoro.
4 Fujitora
Fujitora, a Navy Admiral, possesses remarkable strength and skills despite his blindness. Known for his expertise in using Kenbunshoku and Busoshoku Haki, Fujitora also wields the powerful Paramecia-type Devil Fruit called Zushi Zushi no Mi, granting him control over gravity.
With this ability, he can summon destructive meteors from the sky and cause extensive damage. Furthermore, Fujitora can manipulate the gravitational force in a designated area, resulting in the formation of massive craters. A notable encounter between Fujitora and Zoro occurred in Dressrosa, where it became evident that Zoro was not yet prepared to face such a formidable opponent. This speculation is further fueled by their depicted battle in One Piece Opening 17.
3 Benn Beckman
Benn Beckman, Shanks' loyal associate, is often noted for his reserved demeanor, in stark contrast to his talkative captain. While some mistakenly perceive him to be on par with Shanks, Benn Beckman is undeniably an exceptional combatant, proven by his ability to momentarily immobilize Kizaru.
Despite possessing a firearm, Benn Beckman rarely relies on it in battle, setting him apart from Zoro and his impeccable sharpshooting skills. Should an encounter arise between the Straw Hat Pirates and the Red Hair Pirates, it is only fitting that the second most formidable individuals from each crew engage in combat.
2 Dracule Mihawk
Dracule Mihawk, known as the Strongest Swordsman in the World, was once a notorious hunter of Marines before becoming a member of the Shichibukai. His reputation instilled fear worldwide, prompting the Navy to employ drastic measures to confront him. As a result, Mihawk was offered a place among the Shichibukai.
From the start, Zoro has expressed his intention to surpass Mihawk and claim the title for himself. In the Baratie arc, Zoro faced Mihawk in battle but suffered a humiliating defeat. Later, Kuma sent Zoro to Mihawk's residence, where he implored his rival to train him. Surprisingly, Mihawk agreed and taught Zoro valuable lessons on swordsmanship and Haki. After two years of intense training, Zoro rejoined his crew. Although they haven't crossed paths again, it is undeniable that their ultimate clash will occur in the final arc, where the student will surpass the master.
