Olivia Rodrigo brought the laughs (and proved her style star status) when she made a surprise appearance in a Saturday Night Live sketch.

At the age of 20, the singer appeared as the musical guest on the December 9th episode of the NBC sketch comedy series, hosted by Adam Driver. In addition to performing her songs “Vampire” and “All-American Bitch”, Rodrigo also participated in the “Tiny Ass Bag” skit with Driver, Marcello Hernandez, and Ego Nwodim, portraying boutique employees persuading shoppers to exchange their large purses for smaller ones. Rodrigo made a cameo at the end of the scene.

Hello, I'm Georgina and I don't have a last name. It's just Georgina," joked the former High School Musical: The Musical: The Series star with an accent. "We also have a carry-on option. This one is so small, it can only fit your secrets - and that's it!"

After the sketch, Rodrigo hugged Hernandez, 26, and Nwodim, 35, before SNL cut to a commercial break.

Rodrigo previously made her SNL debut in May 2021, when she performed “Drivers License” and “Good 4 U” as a first-time musical guest. Although fans had hoped to see her in a sketch at the time, she later revealed that her anxiety about taking the famous Studio 8H stage got the better of her.

“My second ever performance was actually on SNL. My first one was at the BRITs in the U.K., which was insane. I was so nervous for SNL, I didn't want to do any sketches. I just wanted to sing my songs,” she explained in a SiriusXM interview later that month. “I'm not sure if they had any sketches in mind for me or not, but I hope to go back another time and it's definitely something I'd love to do.”

In her August 2023 Vogue cover story, Rodrigo recounted her emotions behind the scenes of her SNL performance, as journalist Jia Tolentino described her as “more scared than she had ever been in her life, crying from nerves in the dressing room.”

While Rodrigo delivered a stellar performance as the musical guest for the second time, her close friend Billie Eilish is set to step into the spotlight for the upcoming episode airing on Saturday, December 16. Eilish, 21, recently opened up about her special connection with Rodrigo.

In a November interview with the Los Angeles Times, Eilish shared, "I believe that everyone's experiences are unique. Nobody has lived anyone else's life, you know? But I do feel a sense of protectiveness over Olivia."

Eilish went on to share that a song was written about Rodrigo, hinting at the challenges of early fame. “I have a song called ‘Goldwing’ from my last album that’s kind of about her,” she revealed. “I’ve never said that to anyone. It’s not only about her. I was just thinking about her when I was writing it. She was coming up, and she was younger than me, and nobody had ever been younger than me.”
