Madison Beer's Shocking Revelation About Olivia Rodrigo's 'Vampire' Unveils Scandalous Details about Ex Zack Bia

Madison Beer acknowledges the impact of Olivia Rodrigo's 'Vampire' on the increased streams of her song 'Selfish,' believed to be inspired by her former partner Zack Bia, subtly hinting at their past relationship

Madison Beer acknowledged Olivia Rodrigo for the surge in song streams, suggesting that both women wrote breakup songs about their shared former partner Zack Bia. In a now-deleted tweet on July 4, Beer expressed gratitude to Olivia, stating, "Thank you, miss Olivia <3." This came as Pop Crave's data indicated that Beer's song "Selfish" had experienced a rise in downloads following the release of Rodrigo's latest single, "Vampire," the previous week.

Beer also commended Rodrigo's artistic talent on the debut single of her upcoming second album, Guts. When asked for her thoughts on the song, Beer tweeted: "Absolutely stunning. I truly believe it is unique and showcases her growth exceptionally. It's undeniably impressive."

Upon the release of "Vampire" on June 30th, fans quickly speculated that the song was about Bia, who is 27 years old. The singer of "Driver's License" and the DJ were first seen together in April 2022, before it was confirmed six months later that they had ended their relationship.

Bia had a well-known relationship with Rodrigo after her on-and-off dating with Beer for two years, until they split in 2019. Though Beer never disclosed the reason for their breakup, she expressed her feelings through a mysterious social media post, stating on Twitter, "Before you label yourself with depression and anxiety, ensure that you're not simply surrounded by individuals who don't care about you."

Beer later released the song "Selfish," in which she discusses being in a relationship with someone who isn't truthful with her.

In the track, she sings, "You probably believed that your love was genuine, but we wasted it all in nightclubs. Your constant lie is all you ever do. Why do you behave like a Gemini?" (Bia’s birthday is June 9, which is categorized under the Gemini astrological sign.) The song also delves into attempting to assist someone who rejects any form of help. "I don't want to be the one patching you up, struggling to fix you, but I can't. I refuse to. I shouldn't have loved you, but I couldn't resist. I had a hunch that you never truly felt it. Deep down, I always knew that you were excessively self-centered."

On the other hand, Rodrigo's track "Vampire" explores similar themes.

“I should have realized it was unusual / You only emerge during the nighttime / I used to believe I was intelligent / But you rendered me gullible,” she melodiously sings on the refrain. “The manner in which you traded me for fragments / As you bit into me, oh / Bloodsucker, famef—ker / Draining me completely like a damn vampire.

Madison Beer and Zack Bia are depicted in the accompanying image. The lyrics of both songs imply the presence of unfaithfulness. Beer expresses her confusion by stating, "I don't know why I chose to ignore it," whereas Rodrigo highlights the glimpse of extravagant parties and jewels that haunt her thoughts: "I catch sight of the parties and the diamonds in my mind, from time to time / You presented six months of agony as a clandestine paradise."

Rodrigo, for her part, calls out an alleged age gap in her relationship. (She and Bia are six years apart.)

“You went for me and not her / Because girls your age know better,” she sings.

Both Rodrigo and Beer have chosen to remain silent about the inspiration behind their songs. However, Rodrigo did provide some insight into the emotions and intentions behind her song "Vampire" following its recent release. Taking to Instagram, she expressed that writing the song allowed her to process feelings of regret, anger, and heartache. She also mentioned that it was one of her favorite tracks on the album and found the process of completing it to be cathartic. Rodrigo concluded her message by expressing her gratitude to her fans and hoping that the song would help them handle any individuals in their lives who drain them emotionally.
