‘NSync, the beloved boy band consisting of Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick, makes a long-awaited comeback with their new song, "Better Place." Released on September 29, the track showcases the group's undeniable talent and proves that despite the passing of years, they still possess the same level of skill and charisma that once dominated TRL and the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Set against a disco-infused backdrop, "Better Place" serves as a nostalgic tribute to the glory days of 'NSync and anyone who yearns for the simpler times of MySpace's Top 8, flip phones, and AOL Instant Messenger.

"The band sings about embracing the fast-paced world in the track, with lyrics expressing the desire for louder music and stronger waves. In addition, they express the willingness to take the listener to a better place. Later on, the group affectionately sings about not wanting any other way, reassuring that they will stay together and do things better. The song is included in the upcoming movie Trolls Band Together, which is the third installment in the animated franchise that stars Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, and other talented individuals."

Timberlake expressed his gratitude for the fortuitous circumstances that led to his collaboration with the group, stating, "So many stars aligned and that’s why I hit y’all and was like, ‘Hey, something came up.'" In a behind-the-scenes video shared on his Instagram on September 15, he further added, "If we do this song, it’s a love letter to our fans. I would be honored to have the group on this song."

“Better Place” is the group’s latest musical release since 2002, when the Neptunes remixed “Girlfriend.” In the upcoming Trolls film, set to be released on November 17, we get to see Branch (voiced by Timberlake) as a former member of BroZone, a group he was in with his brothers (voiced by Daveed Diggs, Kid Cudi, Troye Sivan, and Eric André). After one of the brothers gets kidnapped, Branch and Poppy (voiced by Anna Kendrick) reunite the band with the hope of rescuing the trapped troll.

Following their public reunion at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, the group released a new song weeks later. The reunion took place as they presented the first award of the night for Best Pop Video. Chasez, aged 47, reminiscing on their past success, shared how winning Best Pop Video for their song "Bye Bye Bye" over 20 years ago meant everything to them.

After receiving the award for "Anti-Hero," Taylor Swift directed some questions to the group, expressing her struggles with transitioning in her career. She mentioned having their dolls and inquired about their future plans.

Members of the group playfully considered taking further action following the event. "It felt like the next step for us," explained Bass, 44, in an interview with We Magazine after the VMAs. Fatone, 46, chimed in, saying that this unexpected song release was a moment of realization. "It was a sudden decision, like, 'Alright, we're going for it.' So we are thrilled to see what unfolds."

Despite the reunion at the VMAs and on “Better Place,” ‘NSync has no intentions of a complete reunion, as reported by Billboard.
