While embarking on the main storyline quest, "Regional Phenomena," in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, players will explore various regions of Hyrule that experience extreme climates. Located south of Death Mountain, Goron City boasts scorching temperatures that are capable of igniting wooden weapons in certain areas. Despite this, the bustling Goron civilization frequently seeks the assistance of Links for side quests and thrilling adventures.
Engaging in these smaller quests proves to be an exceptional means of gathering rare resources, Rupees, and occasionally weapons. One such quest, known as "Moon-Gazing Gorons," offers a leisurely experience for Tears of the Kingdom players, simply requiring them to travel and partake in sightseeing in exchange for a monetary reward.
Moon-Gazing Gorons Walkthrough
The side quest "Moon-Gazing Gorons" can be accessed in Goron City once players have completed the main quest "Yunobo of Goron City." To initiate the quest, players should locate the two elder Gorons, Volcon and Tray, standing outside the town inn.
The elder Gorons are engaged in a nostalgic conversation about a childhood vacation destination they can't quite recall. They do remember that the spot was at Lake Ferona and that a full moon would famously illuminate the area during daylight hours. Volcon believes that if he is shown a picture, he will be able to identify the location they are trying to remember.
The Purah Pad can be utilized to capture the magnificence of the full moon. The camera can be accessed just like players access their unique abilities, and it becomes available after completing the main story quest titled "Camera Work in the Depths."
To discover Tray and Volcon's chosen destination, make your way to the western side of Lake Ferona (1930, 1282, 0129). Opting for the Eldin Canyon Skyview Tower as your mode of transportation offers the swiftest route. If approached from the west, players will behold a significant rock nestled amidst the lake, accompanied by two cavernous entrances within the mountain walls. It is imperative to descend into the lower cave entrance in order to pinpoint the precise location.
Once inside the cave, proceed to the edge of the ledge. For the full moon to become visible, it is necessary to be there at midday. In case players arrive earlier, they can utilize a fire to fill the time until noon, using either a bundle of wood and flint or a fire fruit to start it.
When the opportune time arrives, players standing on the ledge will observe what appears to be a full moon when looking downwards. At this point, capturing a swift photograph is all that remains.
In order to wrap up "Moon-Gazing Gorons," players should head back to Goron City and share their captured image with Tray and Volcon. This will jog their memory, and in gratitude, they reward Link with a valuable Silver Rupee worth 100 Rupees.
