Season 3 of Mortal Kombat 1 has arrived, featuring The Cryomancer as the latest character. This season offers new content such as ice-themed character skins, Sub-Zero boss battles in Invasion Mode, and the addition of Quan Chi as a DLC fighter. Krossplay is also included in this season's update. Quan Chi, a character not seen since Mortal Kombat X, is known for his necromancing abilities and is available to Kombat Pack subscribers, with a release date of December 21 for non-subscribers.
NetherRealm Studios has not implemented Krossplay yet, but it is in the works. Meanwhile, the studio has introduced a Wi-Fi filter that matches players based on the strength of their internet connection. Krossplay will be added in February 2024 as a free update for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. It's worth noting that MK1 runs on the Nintendo Switch, but it was not mentioned in the Krossplay feature at this time.
It appears that there will be no more major content updates this month. In a press release, NetherRealm Studios mentioned other features to look forward to, such as upcoming Kameo Fighters and Invasions.
Mortal Kombat 1 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
Editor's P/S
As a dedicated Mortal Kombat fan, I am thrilled about the introduction of Quan-Chi in Season 3. Quan-Chi is one of the most iconic characters in the Mortal Kombat franchise, and his return has been highly anticipated by fans. His necromancing abilities and unique fighting style will undoubtedly add a new level of excitement to the game. I can't wait to get my hands on him and explore his moves and combos.
The addition of cross-play is another fantastic development for Mortal Kombat 1. This feature will allow players from different platforms to compete against each other, expanding the game's player base and creating a more vibrant and competitive community. I believe that cross-play will significantly enhance the overall gaming experience and make Mortal Kombat 1 even more enjoyable.
