Highlights

A fan of Star Trek and The Legend of Zelda has created a replica of the USS Enterprise in Tears of the Kingdom, showcasing the game's versatile building mechanics.

In Tears of the Kingdom, players can combine different components to invent remarkable contraptions such as controllable birds and walking mechs. The USS Enterprise replica in the game features guard rails, Zonai Fans, Cobble Crushers, and a phaser array, with piloting being done using a Zonai Steering Stick. The Autobuild ability in the game enables players to duplicate components like guard rails.

A Star Trek fan with engineering skills successfully replicated the USS Enterprise in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. This remarkable achievement showcases the remarkable versatility of Tears of the Kingdom's building mechanics.

The newest Zelda game expands on its predecessor's sandbox features, including Link's Ultrahand ability that enables players to combine up to 21 components to create a wide range of weapons, vehicles, and contraptions. Since the game's release, fans have been utilizing Tears of the Kingdom to construct various inventions, such as controllable birds, walking mechs, and rain sensors, among others.

The growing collection of machinery now includes a replica of the USS Enterprise from Star Trek, created by Reddit user BewareMyStingerTail. Despite the game's limitations, the Tears of the Kingdom aircraft still captures the distinctive appearance of the iconic starship from the original '60s Star Trek television show.

The design incorporates eight guard rails from the Construct Factory and five Zonai Fans. Some of these components are directly joined together, while others are connected via strategically placed weapons such as the Cobble Crushers. An ingenious recreation of the phaser array utilizes a single mirror to reflect a ray of light that resembles the energy beam of the USS Enterprise. Positioned below the deck is a Zonai Shock Emitter, mounted on an upside-down Construct Head, imparting the weapon with auto-targeting capabilities.

The aircraft features a Zonai Steering Stick that allows Link to pilot it. A video posted on Reddit by the creator confirms that this USS Enterprise replica is highly agile and capable of long-distance flight. These qualities are largely thanks to the railing, which makes up the majority of the ship's body.

Specifically, the Construct Factory guard rail is the lightest known component in the game. Its discovery led to the creation of many inventive aircraft, including a recreation of history's first successful plane, the Tears of the Kingdom. Although the Construct Factory doesn't have many of these railings, plundering just one is enough to duplicate and use multiple times in construction, thanks to the Autobuild ability that works for all components in the game.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
