The Pokemon franchise has a dedicated fan who has given Spoink, a Psychic-type pocket creature, a makeover by transforming it into a Poison-type. While maintaining many of Spoink's original characteristics, this artist's version allows other fans to imagine what the Pokemon would look like with an alternate form or element. In the Pokemon community, it is common for creative fans to create alternate versions of their favorite pocket creatures. Even The Pokemon Company seems to support this trend as they introduce new forms and versions of Pokemon in their video games. Not every pocket creature officially receives an alternate form, which gives fans the opportunity to use their creativity to imagine what these specific Pokemon would look like with different elements.
On Reddit, user JJonnie showcased their unique fan art of the Psychic-type Pokemon Spoink, presenting an alternative version of the popular creature. Renaming it as "Zoink" and labeling it the "Research Pokemon," the artist incorporated new elements seamlessly into the design. Zoink now dons round glass flasks on its head and hands, as opposed to the original version's single pink ball. These flasks are ingeniously connected by transparent tubing, functioning as the Pokemon's spring that enables bouncing. JJonnie's Poison-type Zoink exudes an intriguing mad scientist aesthetic, undoubtedly delighting fans.
Additionally, JJonnie added some flavor text to enhance Zoink's character. Capitalizing on the Poison-type's research theme, they described the Pokemon as experiencing eureka moments during battles. Furthermore, JJonnie created a shiny variant of Zoink, adhering to the franchise's convention of using muted colors for shiny Pokemon. Clearly impressed, a commenter on the Reddit thread suggested that JJonnie's Poison-type Zoink should be made into a regional variant of Spoink.
The Pokemon community can expect to see more of JJonnie's artwork online in the near future. JJonnie has created numerous fan art pieces showcasing alternative forms for various Pokemon, and it is highly likely that this Poison-type Spoink is just the beginning. It is hoped that JJonnie will continue to share their artwork online, providing fellow Pokemon fans with even more opportunities to engage in franchise theories.
