Highlights

A bug in Cyberpunk 2077 is causing cars to spawn on top of the player character's head, obstructing their view and impeding gameplay.

This problem is just one of the various issues that were introduced in the game's 2.0 update, despite the studio's attempts to resolve bugs and enhance performance. While the glitch appears to be isolated to a particular quest in the Badlands, CD Projekt Red may tackle it in upcoming hotfixes.

Cyberpunk 2077 has recently encountered a peculiar bug where cars spawn on top of V's head, resulting in gameplay disruption. This strange issue joins the ranks of glitches that seemingly came about with the introduction of the Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.0.

This is not to suggest that CD Projekt Red's latest game is lacking in polish, as the studio dedicated the past three years to addressing bugs, improving performance, and occasionally delivering new content. However, due to the immense scale of the 2.0 update, certain obscure technical problems inevitably went unnoticed during development.

The most recent issue was discovered by a Reddit user named wellforthebird. They came across a strange glitch that caused cars to spawn on top of their character's head in the game Cyberpunk 2077. This glitch not only affected the character's visibility, but it also hindered gameplay by preventing the user from entering cars or riding bikes. A video shared by the player on Reddit showcased how they were able to use the car as a shield against bullets. The exact cause of this glitch is unknown, but it is suspected that it may have been introduced in the 2.0 patch, the game's first major update in a year. Another odd glitch involving destroyed police cars also appeared after the September 21 update.

CD Projekt Red has released one patch for Cyberpunk 2077 to address various issues, but the recent update 2.01 does not specifically fix the problem of cars turning into hats. Although the changelog does mention fixes for vehicle-related problems, there is no mention of cars becoming headwear. The lack of evidence from other sources suggests that this issue is not widespread. The glitch was reported by a single player who encountered it during the Flying Drugs side quest in the Badlands. While there are no plans for major updates, future hotfixes similar to the recent 2.01 patch may address such bugs.

Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
